The government have announced that from September vaccine passports will be needed for certain things such as nightclubs, without the option of a negative test as an alternative.

This is (probably fairly) seen as forcing the vaccines on younger people.

Nobody is forcing anyone to have the vaccine, we just don't want to rub shoulders with the plagued scumbags who haven't had it. It's our freedom of choice.

Nah. If you don't get the vaccine you're scum. People are being given far too much leeway because "they're entitled to their opinion". **** their opinion.

There's masses of studies out there highlighting that the under 30's have minimal to zero benefit in getting the vaccine. Why are we supporting such government controls such as this for a virus that has a 99.5% survivability rate? A vaccine that obviously doesn't stop you passing the virus on or contracting it yourself? Why are we ruling out a negative test as a means of entry to an event?

When did we become a nation of walkovers? I'm double jabbed as of last Thursday but this announcement is one of the lowest things the government has done during this pandemic. It's a complete violation of rights.

More and more like countries such as China and North Korea. Forcing something on someone to be able to do something should never be a thing here. It's a very dark day and the uproar is going to get back times worse than the protest earlier today. I suspect when the French style riots start happening Boris will water his plan down with a u turn like Macron has.

You are obviously very much opposed to being vaccinated. Can I ask why you have now been vaccinated? Not after a row, just interested

Very tragic, and I'm sorry for them. But COVID isn't the only illness out there. 500 people die every single day because of cancer. Many thousands more than are undiagnosed because of COVID. I know people who have had their cancers turn terminal in lockdown because they couldn't get access to doctors etc. In the last 40 days, the total number of COVID deaths doesn't add up to one day of cancer deaths. But yet let's lock the country down, instill fear into everyone (remember when we all gave a **** about mental health?!? Suicides through the roof. Pandemic on and NHS staff are making choreographed tiktok videos... not the time! Kids mental health services are in bits because of demand). Not to mention the years of education they've lost for a virus that doesn't effect them.
Oh but let's get the injected too. Customers for life. While the government and cronies do what they want.
    But oh COVID.
The vaccine is your route to freedom. Sorry who gave you that power?

EVERY COVID DEATH IS A TRAGEDY BUT SOD EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

It's very serious for many. Granted. But what it happening is abhorrent and very sinister. I thought the people of the BBS might have had a bit more backbone about them and want to stand up to this government. It wields power like its accountable to nobody. But everyone loves Boris. Everyone loves SAGE (who get pretty much everything wrong). Everyone loves social distancing and being under house arrest.

Jesus wept I'm done. I'm sorry, but I'm despondent tonight. This last year and half has been hell on earth for me and I yearn for the times I once knew.

When I was young you couldn't get in a nightclub without a collar, tie, keks and shoes. Ba5tards, forcing us to look like twonks just so we could stop art a bit longer.

Nope. Scum need to stop thinking they are special and are entitled to all of their rights and none of their responsibilities.

Though I might agree with some of the sentiment, the sad thing is this point is nowhere near the worst of what he is allowing through. Attacks on media, law, rights to protest, the NHS, "freedom of speech", selling your data, changing electoral boundaries, bringing in ID to vote and so many other things are deeply concerning in isolation, let alone all at the same time.

DePfeffel doesn't even care about any of these things. He wants to be liked, he doesn't want scrutiny. He wants all of the perks and none of the responsibility. So the question is who does want all of this to happen and for what ends?

Some could argue that 46M people have undergone voluntary vaccinations just to get these events re-opened and maybe it isn’t a lot to ask for another 10% of the population to do likewise for their own fun.

Y mean like only being allowed to drive if you pass a test and buy insurance?

Everyone’s perfectly entitled to their civil liberties… right up to the point where their free will might harm someone else. This is how society works, and always has.
