Let's lockdown forever then. Anyone who doesn't have a vaccine, shoot them. In fact, anyone who ever gets ill, shoot them.

    Heil Skryptic! Heil heil heil!

I'm done, sod this. Honestly, I'm completely dumbfounded.

Note to admin, delete my account please. This place is beyond absurd.

You don’t have to answer this because it’s a personal matter, but have you had your jabs yet? And if not, why not?

Same question goes to others with similar views.

There you go. That’s the side of the argument who occupy the moral high ground and just care about other people, folks.

Just to expand on my position slightly. I have very little sympathy for people that refuse to get the vaccine. It's safe and has gone through all the tests that any other vaccine in the UK has gone through. Being against this one but not against other vaccines is illogical (because again, it's no different to any other vaccine in terms of safety) and being against vaccines in general is a ridiculous position that deserves ridicule and ostracisation.

I think vaccine passport with the option of a negative test is a great idea and I'm not against that in the slightest. People that don't want the vaccine just have to jump through some extra hoops, it is what it is. That's the price you pay for refusing to get the vaccine.

But requiring vaccine without an option of a negative test is a step too far for me and something that I expect to be reversed.

Just to be clear on the current rules, what type of negative test is it? A PCR within 24 hours or a lateral flow half an hour before?

How do they implement the negative test policy? I'm not trying to be awkward I genuinely don't understand how it works.

There's also the issue of Long Covid. There's currently around 1 million sufferers, of which 33,000 are children. Besides the prevention aspect, the vaccine is said to improve the prognosis for sufferers.

It is the price you have to pay but it's completely wrong. Taking away civil liberties and freedoms unless someone agrees to be vaccinated is just wrong on so many levels and defending it by saying that people can prove their purity before being allowed to live is defending the indefensible.

I've avoided likening this to the Nazis but right now it's exactly what they're like. Boris and his cohorts wants to create a master race of people immune to a virus and if you are not immune you will not be allowed to live the same lives as everyone else. Forget the passport idea, just give everyone a barcode on their arm. It saves paper.

I know you personally only support the testing to prove purity aspect and not the full on nazi treatment but it's the thin end of the wedge for me. Give the Nazi party an inch and they'll take a mile. People have backed their partial segregation and look what they've done. Exactly what was predicted.

The best thing for the country would be a bullet in the blonde one's head. Better yet, cut off his head and ram it onto the railing outside downing Street. The bigot is going to create civil war the way he's carrying on and he needs stopping one way or another.

I haven’t said a single thing about being opposed to being vaccinated. I’ve only commented on the notion announced today that only vaccinated people will be admitted to large indoor events and nightclubs.

I didn’t really need to take the vaccine but as I’m approaching 40 it wasn’t something that bothered me too much. If I had children I wouldn’t be forcing them to have it. A 12 year old girl now potentially won’t be able to see Taylor Swift at the O2 Arena unless she’s double jabbed. We’re forcing that on the population. And for some reason that’s ok?

Some could argue that. But a high percentage of those 46m haven’t done it voluntarily really have they? They’re in an age bracket where the risks are higher, and whilst in pure terms have done it voluntarily, they’ve done it as a ways to live their lives more freely than the last 18 months and for a lot longer.

Ive seen people on social media using this argument for yellow fever. That’s not comparing apples with apples though is it, as the risks if you catch yellow fever are far, far greater than if you catch COVID. Unless I’m completely wrong on that. Same with the majority of the compulsory vaccines out there, they’re for far more deadly diseases than COVID.

I can't believe people support the population effectively being forced to have a vaccine where:
    • The main benefit is the lessening of severity should the recipient contract it, rather than preventing spread - so a person's choice primarily affects themselves
    • There has been no study of long term side effects
    • The manufacturers have been largely legally exempted from liability
By all means think someone is a **** for not having the vaccine, but enforcing medical procedures should have a really ******* high hurdle of necessity to override the principles of autonomy. For me this doesn't get anywhere near.

Probably. I’m that shocked by the announcement I’ve struggled to read beyond the first couple of paragraphs of the news reports. Even at 18 plus it’s shocking.

I'm off to Germany on Sunday. I'm allowed to enter because I'm double vaccinated. Even if I wasn't, they'd still allow me in because my wife is a German citizen, but other than that nobody from the UK who isn't fully vaccinated is allowed in.

When I went on safari the doc recommended I didn't get the yellow fever vaccine because the risk was so low and there were potentially serious side effects. She said she'd never had any complaints, but I suggested that's maybe because all her previous patients died of yellow fever.

    She didn't laugh.
