    Knocked Gianfranco Zola flying into a display stand of greeting cards in WHSmiths at Heathrow- just didn't see him (as he's that small) as I rounded a corner talking on my mobile.
    Mario Melchiot picked him up looking at me like a chastised naughty spaniel.

    A few years ago, as my wife was entering the Co op in Dodworth, she walked into Kayode Odejayi. He went flying, flat onto his back! Miguel Mostto who was with him was creased up with laughter. Crystal was extremely embarrassed, but fair dos to Kayodi. He was very apologetic and kept asking her if she was alright.

    Met him in the early 70's, after a brief young marriage. Told him I'd lost my job at the timber yard and times were tough. Asked me how I dealt with it, and I said I just used to go for a dip in the stream in the village most days.

    Bit ignorant he was, just kept scribbling in his notebook whilst I was telling the tale.

    When I was in the Bahamas helping my mate with his boat .
    American film crew asked for help as an extra, when I offered I ended up with a bit part.
    On the fone to the wife ," I'm in a movie Sam the Salty seaman"
    Was told what goes in the Bahamas, stays in the Bahamas !.

    I've watched on in horror and embarrassment as a pi ssed up Laura grabs Aiden O' Brien at Doncaster races and makes me take a picture of them both with her mobile.

    In fairness he's a lovely bloke and asked if we were enjoying our day and wished us both well. Wasn't fazed by her advances at all. Danny Rose and Mason Holgate have also copped for a bit of Laura love at Doncaster races too. Again to my sheepish amazement.

    Somebody very kind took me and Mrs Mac on a mini-break to Paris. Or so we thought.
    When we got to Paris we were escorted to the Concorde lounge and a few hours later we were in New York.

    A few years earlier, we were treated to a few nights in London (so we thought) with a trip through the Kent Countryside on the British Pullman. Before we knew it we were on a Hovercraft and picked up another posh train, all the way to Venice.

    Done some right Posh stuff me - who was it asking for lessons in middle-classness?


    (am a lucky guy, and appreciate it all).

    I've seen plenty of footballers in airports, though never knocked them over! Checked in next to Andersen Da Silva and Hugo Colace at Manchester once. It was May so I presume they were flying home for the summer. Went through security behind Patrick Viera, also in Manchester. Absolutely huge guy. Walked past Marc Overmars in Schipol, who is surprisingly small.
