Think this is the footballing equivalent of having a shuffle over your ex's Facebook pics. Time to move on.
Don’t think anyone was that intimate with him tbh . Just checking up on old friends is more like it , some of us can move on and still wish some of our old employees well (except against us ) especially when they gave everything to us whilst here .
We’ll see, but I’m not so sure. We appointed Val on his style fitting our football team. They’ve appointed on the fact he did well with us…
We’re a stepping stone club and we all know it. Everyone, at Barnsley, is in the shop window. If a player doesn’t perform to our expectations they’re termed as ‘pub league’ players, and if they perform consistently well, we know what will inevitably happen. This applies to players and managers. The downside is, You can’t get too attached to players and managers , nowadays, as they don’t stick around long enough. In fact, I think Oakwell may never again host a testimonial match.
I know it's cringeworthy. They'll be booking appointments to lick his arsehole next . Free Valerian Ishmael...statue in Peel Square, Dickie Bird, Michael Parkinson we love you mwah mwah mwah. Kissy, kissy
His playing style was rubbish on the eye. I'd have accepted it had we gone up with last season being behind closed doors. I wouldn't pay to watch it. I don't think his style will work with Premier League players that don't want to run. I also don't think we'd have pushed on under without a higher turnover of players as he was running them into the ground. The bubble had burst before the Play-Offs and the players had nothing left. I think results clouded people's judgement.
Not sure that's true, do you honestly know enough about him to say that his style with his previous clubs was the same as with us? I think he just used a rapid, brute force approach with us as we had existing players that could work in that system. I'd argue he's got much more skillful players at his disposal at West Brom, so he'll probably implement a different system there.
I have no interest personally. He's not our manager anymore. He did a great job, then left as soon as possible. I'm not bitter or angry, he's just another ex-manager. I want us to do better than West Brom next season. Which means I want him to lose more games than us and win less.
