Had to cancel their friendly with Aston Villa..... https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/2021/july/Villa-friendly-cancelled/ Unless rules are changed it's going to be a frustrating season. I can see fans up and down the country angry that a game has been called off at short notice, wasting their time off work, train ticket, hotel etc for nothing.
Speaking of Forest they sold 1,881 for their trip to the Coventry Building Society Arena and have another 2,000 on sale tomorrow despite the robbing sods charging away fans £30. They need a word with Cardiff City. https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/2021/july/Ticket-news-Coventry-a-/ https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/2021/july/Coventry-update-guidance-for-buying-in-a-group/
It's a really strange time still isn't it. On the one hand we have pretty large numbers of fans attending pre season games, thousands following Newcastle and Ipswich amongst others this week, but on the other hand games are being cancelled and will continue to be. It'll be a stop start season I think, very frustrating and very difficult to confidently book ahead and plan away trips. But we are moving in the right direction and even discussing attending games is a bonus. I do wonder if they may ban away crowds for Europe/International games this season though, or at least heavily restrict access. I was planning on watching England in Poland and Andorra (tickets permitting) but I certainly don't feel confident booking anything yet.
Fully vaccinated people are expected to no longer have to self isolate from August 16th if they have had contact with someone with covid. So hopefully after that point it's isolate if you've covid, take a test if you've been in contact with someone with covid and if you haven't got it you've been double vaccinated so games can continue as planned.
The one thing I don't get about that rule is what the benefit of waiting until August 16th is. Being double jabbed reduces but doesn't kill transmission. All clinically vulnerable are double jabbed. What's to gain by waiting a month?
Yes. As critical as I am of this shower of excrement that is termed "Our Government" using the double jab rule will only be fair if the younger end have had their chance to get both jabs.
Try watching Rugby League it's barmy what's happening, some teams using it as an excuse to cancel games.
Fair enough makes sense. I suppose it's going to be quite useful being able to use your vaccination status like some kind of 'legal document' to get you out of isolating.
