I didn't realise that she was the daughter of former Red Jim Dobbin. She's gone through so much this year with an Epileptic fit that meant she couldn't walk, talk or even remember her parents. To come back and make the semi finals of the 200m at the olympics is an amazing achievement.
Jim Dobbin was awesome for us and got some unnecessary stick from some of the fans. He was brilliant if I remember when the coach played him as sweeper. Well done too to his daughter he must be buzzing bless him.
he was my favourite player, the boo boys used to give him hell, but he could put a decent ball through ,everyone loved Steve Agnew back then, the king of the side foot pass
I was stood in the brewery stand when a reds fan screamed abuse at him. (AGNEW) I was gobsmacked and felt for the lad . He also played at a good level. Better than Nelson league or Sunday league 4 which some fans get to acheive. But hey let's give em abuse there getting paid.
Nearly reduced me to tears this morning with her mention of her best pals mum, an NHS worker who had taken her own life. Well done Beth and you and your family should be so massively proud.
Decent player was Jim back in the day. Scored one or two crackers too, seem to remember one at Hull City? Great achievement for his daughter, bet the family are very proud.
These Olympians are a credit to our nation(any nation) & an inspiration, they're all heros. Bless all of them.
