So a 13 year old girl has won a medal in the skateboarding. A 12 year old also competed. Is there no minimum age ?
What a fantastic future she has ahead of her. If you're good enough to make the olympics age isn't relevant.
Don't know her background to be honest but she did sound a bit American in her interview on the news last night. Good luck to her though......
Find it a bit strange to be honest that a 13 year old lass wins an Olympic medal for us and people feel the need to find a negative to focus on. Each to their own.
Wasn't "The Sky's the Limit" a Hughie Green quiz show, the successor to "Double your Money" where contestants answered questions for air miles and an foreign holidays? It must date back to the change in ITV franchises in the late 1960s.
Negative? I'm asking a genuine question i didnt know the answer to. Done some research and found she has a Japanese mum and English dad and only decided to compete for GB in 2019. She lives in California. Has a Nike sponsorship deal.
Her dads British, her mums japanese and they live in California. She chose to represent Britain when she is good enough to represent either of the nations. I slated the other version of skateboarding because it wasn’t reight good but I actually enjoyed this. The girl was fantastic to say she is only 13.
I am really pleased for her and for GB getting another Olympic medal. Her path to success has been a little smoother and easier than other GB atheletes. For example the BMX lass who had to get a job as a teaching assistant and set up a gofundme page to help finance her Olympic qualification.
Her interview showed she is a very pleasant and certainly not shy ! Find it hard to imagine my grand daughters in a similar situation. Good luck to her and well done
Wasn't just referring to your post, just surprised at the initial comments as they weren't particularly praising. If your most recent comment had come first maybe it would've come across differently and seemed less like a criticism. Can only take stuff at face value
Last year she has a horrific fall and is lucky to be alive. Multiple skull fractures and unresponsive for many hours. No Olympian has had an 'easy' journey to get where they are. Not sure why you feel the need to try and undermine her at all turns in this thread.
