Yes. He'd come in with a good reputation and had us playing some decent football towards the end of the previous season. I genuinely expected a solid season, pushing towards the top half of the league. Fair enough Lee Crooks, Mitch Ward, Kevin Gallen and Kevin Donovan were a bit gash, but no team containing Chris Morgan, Darren Barnard, Bruce Dyer and Mike Sheron should ever have been anywhere near relegation.
