I do. I love Big Val, I love Mowatt. I understand why they left. But there is a large part of me who can't help but pray for a proper thumping. I think it's natural
A 0 -0 bore draw and bingo for how many times they mention Baaarnsley. I do want Alex to kick on though, more than Val because he's been with us longer, through thick and thin.
I've nothing particularly against WBA, even after they pinched Val, but they're just the epitome of a boring yoyo club with no aim other than to parachute-payment their way to promotion, do the square root of fk all when they get up and then go down, rinse and repeat. I can't think of a single notable thing they've done in recent years. That said, I like their ground and their fans (having worked with plenty) are sound.
Yes me too, but it might be interesting to see if he makes them play the way we did. If so then it could be tricky. If he changes to suit the different players then it shows he didn't really rate ours, as has been suggested.
I prefer to think that he recognised their weaknesses and had the brains to play to their strengths. Something not many managers seem willing to do, these days. They tend to prefer shoehorning players into positions, formations and tactics that are unworkable, just to try and prove that the manager knows best.
They beat Birmingham 4-0 in a friendly the other day. Apparently they played with a frantic press which Birmingham couldn’t cope with but the ball spent most of the time on the grass.
Why the pre-occupation with other teams and our former players and staff. Let’s be looking forward to where we’re going and not back to where we’ve been. The schadenfreude associated with our former people is futile, it doesn’t benefit our club. BFC have a policy of developing young talent and selling them on. It’s football it’s going to keep happening for the foreseeable future. Our thoughts should be centred on supporting our new squad and the coming season.
I'd be happy for Mowatt if he goes on to do well in his career. Ismael, however, came for less than a year, left at the first opportunities and raided the club like a vulture. With that in mind, I hope they have an awful start to the season.
Raided the club like a vulture? He took one player and some backroom staff, like all managers do when they leave any club. Move on.
