I don’t really care either way. Tbh I don’t care a lot about most former players/managers once they’re gone either, I don’t wish them ill but I don’t cheer them on either. Except for Conor
Agreed I don’t think about wba from one day to the next but as they are in tv tonight I’ll watch it and hope they lose, then tomorrow I’ll not be thinking about them again until they come up on tv or in the news, you can “move on” and also hope they get thrashed.
He took coaching staff with him that he'd had no connection with before joining Barnsley, so not comparable with managers taking assistants that they've worked with for years as you would usually see. He was also adamant that the club shouldn't sell Mowatt in January, and let his contract run down, at which point he took him on a free. He did excellent for us, but I've no time for him now.
I don't think he had any input in players contracts while he was here and he had nearly a year to make those connections with the coaching staff, so it is comparable. I couldn't care less about him now, but I don't see the need to incorrectly call him a vulture either.
Me too I'll be watching Olympic highlights, then Cricket highlights and racing replay tonight. Then I might try and catch some of football on SSN.
I’d like Mowatt to do well there. West Brom in general though, I’d rather them have a poor season. But then I’d rather every team in the division, barring us, have a poor season.
I remember when I first starting looking for the Reds results in the mid nineties West Brom were crap.
As you know, I'm a big fan of both Valerien & Alex. I believe they were excellent for us and no rewriting of history by some will alter that for me. However, they chose to seek to progress their careers elsewhere, which is their right. I choose to give my backing to Markus Schopp and our players at the club, without the need to persistently denigrate them.
I agree pal, i know all reasons theyve all gone but it would have been easier to stomach if we didnt finish 5th.so bad luck on the football pitch to them all.
Maybe watch the cricket highlights tonight, but I'd give them a wide berth tomorrow if we're batting.
That’s a bit before my time so I can’t really comment. Ever since I’ve been old enough to take a proper interest in football they’ve been a premier league yo-yo team. Not sure much has changed in that regard over the past 15-20 years.
Perhaps it's because I'm an old bugger. But I like, respect and appreciate folk who do a good job whilst they're here. I feel sad when they leave, thank them for what they've done for us and wish them well in their future career. However, I then look forward to seeing what the new blood can bring to the club and team.
I was anorl,i really hope this new coach of ours does well, I'd sooner play slick passing football anyday, but and its a big but, lets just see how we go on first few games am just not feeling it personally.
We were incensed when we sold Connor with six months to go on his contract saying we could maybe have a crack at top six if we’d let his contract run down . That’s exactly opposite to what they did with Mowatt and we kept the team but just failed but now some are incensed that we didn’t sell him ?
Me too. It all feels a bit "after the lord mayors show" for me. That's why I've been a bit more flippant than usual. I was same in 2000 after we'd lost to Ipswich.
