Just looked them last 2 up mate. Looks like I'll have to seek em out when back up your way. Can't say I've seen em on supermarket shelves. Or restaurant menus.

Had some from Ghent a few years ago, they made it daily in a big wooden vat and spooned it out into jars for each customer When they ordered ... delicious, but fierce! You’d be lucky only getting the symptoms you mentioned!

The definition of a teacake is not nonsense but serious business. I'll have you know. Wars have broken out in yorkshire over the issue.
And please don't mention the fish cake. All hell will break loose.

Yes, very lightly battered, in small pieces rather than one big one. We had some in Almuneca on the coast last time we went, very nice washed down with a glass of the local Granada Alhambra beer.

Leeds 6 has some of the best curry places in the world. If you want to make your own there is a supermarket called Abu Bakr a mile from my flat. Probably the best shop you could ever visit in terms of customer service.

I have seen Arbroath Smokies on sale, vacuum packed in Chesterfield market.
Maybe someone in Barnsley might do them.

    **** me... Is nothing sacred?

All we need now is for somebody to tell us that there's a place in South America called Yorkshar and that's where the Conquistadors discovered a race of pudding eaters.

Been there a few times when I was working in the City. Very nice indeed. Even better though was Trishna in Marylebone. We went for someone's birthday and they gave us a selection of all their mains. Was just unreal. The best Indian food I think I have ever tasted. I seem to think it had a Michelin star but it wasn't totally daft prices at that time.
