Is it a matter of being posh or economics (more beer money at a weekend)? My wife wanted to go down to 4 days a week so she could do the cleaning but she earns far in excess per day what it costs for a cleaner so net wise it's far cheaper to employ a cleaner and it also keeps the peace.
Pre COVID we were all out, but I’ve worked from home for last 18 months so I’ve been in. Just have to switch rooms when she needs to clean office. No big deal.
One of the times when we moved house we were camped out on the front lawn waiting to get in while the old owner hoovered all the carpets. I got to know the previous resident quite well later and he said that was the only time he'd seen his (ex) wife with a hoover in her hand.
I'm single so obviously have to but growing up it was my job at home after school each day to do quite a lot of cleaning or my mum would kill me
Not much, as I'm shiiite at it. I do pretty much all the cooking though. A house with my food and my wife's (or the cleaner we use once a month) cleaning is a blissful place. The reverse would be utter hell.
I’m a ‘single’ male who likes to be out of the house travelling, working, and experiencing things as often as possible. I’m not wired up to spend this much time at home. I want a cleaner because whenever I am at home, which is far too often the last 18 months, I do the bare minimum to just about stay on top of the house and keep it respectful. It’s just finding a cleaner I’m struggling with and the trust element that she’ll probably need a key.
If I did the cleaning what would the wife have to do when she wasn't at work. I was only saying the other day when she was mowing the lawn how lucky she was because I was ordering her a set of Dyson Vac attachments off Amazon to make it easier for her to valet my car.
Used to but was costing me a fortune. Do it myself now, put tunes on and treat it as exercise. Said to myself id use the cash saved to go on an extra holiday each year.
