The problem is that nature takes thousands if not millions of years to correct itself, we puny insignificant humans have managed to create the current imbalance in a mere 200 years. What we have done in evolutionary terms, in a relative instant in time, is akin to what the meteor impact did to the dinosaurs 66 million years ago.

At the moment, it seems to me that the world's governments answer to your questions is "Get different graphs"

Governments absolutely must have had discussions about the scale of population and the impact on climate change. Its too easy a correlation for it to be overlooked.

The problem is that the modern world of commerce is built on growth and much of that growth arises from increasing population.

We limit or reduce population and we limit growth.

Until sustainability is a more considerable driver that attains financial reward and success, the hunger for growth will override what is right for the planet. And population will grow until nature does its thing.

Scunny is (mostly) on a hill - you'd lose Crowle, Thorne, Snaith, Epworth, Goole and Hatfield... This is the predicted map at 4m rise.

When I worked at Scunny steel works in 2015 (I lived in Kirton in Lindsey), I was out cycling one night fairly close to the Trent (5 or 6 miles south of the M180) and came upon a road with a few houses decked out with posters campaigning against the profusion of wind farms in the area. I happened to look at my phone, which was running a cycle tracking app, and noticed that said road was several feet below (current) sea level. The phrase "turkeys voting for Christmas" immediately sprung to mind. On this map the area would be several metres under water....

Not really. 'Nature' doesn't have to. Planet Earth will survive. Mother nature doeesn't give a toss about us, our self destructive habits or global warming. Planet Earth - Flora and Fauna -that adapts will survive and succeed us.
People consider the climate and environment we live in as the 'Norm' and how the Earth is, was, and always will be. In terms of the universe, our planet's formation, cooling, evolving lifeforms , demise and ultimate destruction are a mere blink of an eye. By 'nature' in my OP I meant the natural order of things. 'cause and effect'. We will most likely, come and go like countless species previously have leaving no trace of our existence.

I remember watching planet Earth and Attenborough and I am sure that he stated that band of trees below the Arctic circle (boreal forests) produce more oxygen than all the rainforests of the World.
