I think it is Iseka being not as close to featuring as Obbi so I don’t think we’ll see him. I could well be wrong though.
Looking forward to seeing how we play tomorrow. I'm expecting another 3-4-3 line up to start with though I'm a little worried that we'll get out numbered in the middle as we did when we played them at the end of last season (expecting them to play 3-5-2). It'll be interesting to see if this becomes an issue and how the head coach counters it (e.g. another body in the middle and match their formation).
I was putting it together from a Doug O’Kane tweet from before that said he was out but now I can’t find it so maybe I dreamt it. Be good to see him at least on the bench, if he is indeed fit.
After reading that, it'll be interesting to see whether Markus goes with either Oduor or Frieser as the third striker, alongside Woodrow & Morris. Also, who out of Styles, Palmer and Benson play in midfield. I think the rest of the team probably picks itself for the time being.
V interesting comment re Clarke O. Marcus clearly impressed. Also he sees something in George as RWB. Probably useful cover for Calum if Jordan playes on the opposite flank. I guess that just goes to show that in training, day in day out, these boys are showing they have the potential. We have to hope that Marcus has very high standards. Proof of the pudding. Eating. And all that.
If he plays Williams or miller for a prolonged period of time he won't be around long enough to bring his family over. Good news about oduor, just needs to start creating or scoring if given a run in the front 3, something frieser has been unable to do.
A new manager is always going to look at players differently. It remains to be seen how things pan out I guess. Other than LWB most positions seem well covered. I'd be surprised if our starting shape changes from 3-4-3 for now, but there would be an option to go 3-5-2 if needed, which if we had two more deep lying midfielders, would allow for greater attacking wing back play, with Morris & Woodrow up front.
Saw somewhere recently that the average tenure of a championship manager/head coach is less than 18 months. No sensible bloke would uproot his family from another country, disrupting their kids' education etc. for those odds
