But this is daft. Covid protocols ok, but this is painful. I set off an hour earlier to get here, traffic was terrible getting up ponty rd as expected but I’ve still been here ages, the queue has barely moved and there is no prospect I’ll be in for kick off. I was at Silverstone a few weeks ago where they admitted nearly 150k on the Sunday. I don’t understand what is surprising them about this so that it takes this long to get people in safely.
Loads late in - guessing some of them it was their own fault. But we’re talking five and ten minutes late too. We got in just in time in the end - but none of the season passes were scanning properly apparently, and they were just letting everyone through as long as it said this season on the app, card or ticket. Not sure what folk who had this season added to their old one (if that happened this year) did. The lass said summat about going to the box office - I asked her if anyone’s had scanned, she said barely any. I pointed out politely that it might be that the club should try and sort it first rather than expect eleven thousand people to rock up at the box office…
They weren’t scanning any at the turnstile I went through, just waved the ST card and he waved everyone through.
Scanned mine on my phone and I saw her display go green meaning all ok. Were all the problems with cards, or some with phones?
Mine was scanned from my phone ok. I must've just missed the mad rush, because it took about two minutes in the queue to get inside the ground. The queues looked mental from windows in the East upper.
Car park pass didn't scan (first one I've had) but used the downloaded QR code on my Google Pay app to get into the ground, that worked ok.
