Jesus that was the most painful experience of a football match I've ever endured. Traffic chaos before the match, traffic chaos after the match, queues all over the place, season ticket didn't work, ran out of certain drinks before kick off, scoreboard knackered. It was as if the match was being hosted by a Sunday league outfit. Oh and "beaver court is now designated a police rendezvous point and will be closed off during future MATCHES" sounded very ominous for the future.
Sounds like a lot of tickets weren't working. Out of 5 of us, mine was the only one that worked. The rest were ones that upgraded to plus for this season so got new cards that clearly haven't been loaded. I think the box office will be busy on Monday.
For me it was perfect, traffic good to and from the match and out of my parking spot without queuing.
I wondered if there was a problem not with cards but with scanning in people using Google Pay or Apple Pay on their phone?
No it was the new cards. Was told by the man on the turnstile to go sort it at the box office this week...
My ticket on the phone worked okay. Will try the plastic this Tuesday night though as I don’t want to find it doesn’t work on a cold and wet Tuesday night when I need it to work.
Ahh didn't know as still got the old card which worked fine. It needs sorting but cheeky sod shouldn't have said that to you. It shouldn't be your problem to have to pop down to the club to sort something that shouldn't need sorting.
Perfect afternoon for me, hardly any traffic coming in, easily found a parking spot , no problem at the improved turnstiles on the superb west stand , 3 points in the bag, steady stroll to the car, straight out from my spot with no problems at all , I would like to thank Barnsley FC for the first class organisation with everything today, which made my match day experience top drawer , well done BFC.
Mine didn't work as well so the girl on East Stand turnstile duty tapped my details in manually. I was not told to do anything re box office.
So you've been told that you need to go to the box office to get it sorted but instead will not be doing that and instead turning up on Tuesday expecting it to be sorted on its own? There's a chance it'll be working, but I wouldn't count on it.
I cycled in from Broomhill on the TPT which was very enjoyable, just about compensating for the traffic chaos at the M1/M18 junction. Took me literally seconds to get my ST from the helpful girls outside the box office but like others have said, it wouldn't scan at the turnstile. Satisfied with the view from my seat but yes it was a poor game but hey we won! Chuffed to bits for Dom Frieser hopefully he will kick on now. Gutted for Morris, hope he recovers quickly, we badly missed his hold-up play.
Mine worked a treat. Bloke in front of me had issues - I think she said there'd be a problem uploading the data.
How did others experience no traffic issues or queues? What time did you get there? 1pm? Traffic was at a standstill from 2pm till half 2 and turnstiles were backed up around 20 deep
There was an issue scanning new cards, which Ticketmaster are hoping to have resolved by Tuesday. Thank you to all in this thread who've praised staff, who understand that issues will arise and accept folk are doing their best. We aim to be the best we can be, at this club, and from the majority of feedback today, the vast majority were happy. As ever, we'll endeavour to improve where possible. And we won. Without playing particularly well. Reds.
