Arrived in town about 1.30. No traffic issues. Went into vinyl underground bought a couple of records. Stroll down to the ground. Got there about 2.20pm. My e ticket didn’t work but season ticket did. No issues at all. Too many people rocking up at 250 and wondering why they were struggling to get in.
I actually thought we played really well for the most part. The fact you'll have seen us in training didn't think we played well today is really promising. Just a note about my moans, none of them are really about any staff, the person on the turnstile today was actually probably the friendliest turnstile operator I've seen for years, and as usual the steward gave a little nod and hello as I walked past. My main moan (come on, I have to have one) is more at the frankly stupid closure of beaver court which has caused chaos and really will have to be reassessed in the next week. I appreciate that's not actually a club decision though
During your stroll down to the ground did you notice the queues of cars from grove Street all the way back to the Cundy cross junction?
My son's failed to scan. The bloke on the turnstile said we'd have to visit the box office before the next match to sort things out. I assume that's still the case?
Nope. Was too busy chatting to friends I’d not seen for a while. Turn up in plenty of time for a bit. It’s not really that hard is it. Anyone driving a car anywhere near the ground unless they have mobility issues have always been asking for trouble.
But they haven't always been asking for trouble, prior to today's match there's never been much trouble. Because someone decided to close off a key route to the ground and remove vital parking facilities it became a nightmare
I was told that they'd let people in for a 'few weeks' and if it doesn't resolve itself by then then I'd have to go to the box office
Parking in and around Oakwell has always been terrible for as long as I can remember. Certainly since the late 80s Few years ago my mate had a knee op and we had to drive in was always absolutely awful People like to have summat to moan about though.
set off at 2pm, was at courthouse car park at 2 15 and in the ground about 2 35. No que ues at ponty turnstiles and when my ticket wouldn't scan just let me in.
weirder how the person who always whinges always finds summat new to whinge about isn’t it? maybe you should drag Covid into it randomly like you do on all your other ‘contributions’.
In fairness when the issue crops up unexpectedly I can understand how the information could be hard to get out to everyone at the time. Should, imo, have been a message on the website though explaining the situation as soon as it became apparent. In fact there may well be.
You'll notice that you parked at the courthouse carpark which isn't at the ground you're lucky there weren't any queues at your turnstile because there was at the ponty turnstiles I walked past
Regent Street just down from Town Hall. Really good selection I’d recommend a visit. https://m.facebook.com/Vinylundergroundrecords/?ref=bookmarks
I'm not giving advice buddy, because it's not something I'm fully in the loop regards. I just know from speaking to box office staff after the game, that there was an issue with new cards not scanning, and Ticketmaster (who supply them etc) were trying to resolve the issue asap. I think everyone has a digital version now also, using your phone with apple/google pay or whatever. But I'm sure we'll communicate the best course of action before Tuesday night.
Yeah unless you have mobility issues no idea why you wouldn’t park in the Courthouse and walk up. Makes it a much more relaxed day.
