Over the course of last season our average was 1.26 goals per game… Doesn’t look like we’re gonna improve much on that tbh.
Pretty football for much of the game. Some technically excellent players. But zero goal threat, suspect at the back when under pressure, no coherent game plan visible from the manager and little strength in depth. Very early days but I'm a little concerned. I'd snap your hand off for a 12th place finish right now.
poor 1st half i thought but really bossed it 2nd but with no cutting edge up front' deffo deserved a point there though..
Strubers legacy is he kept us up but totally ruined Cauley Woodrow as a striker in the process. Hope these Belgian lads are worth waiting for or it's going to be a long hard season
You're not allowed to say that! A lot on here hated his style and wanted a return to the tippy tappy possession based game!
Might have deserved a point but the record books will show a Luton win, not that Barnsley were the better team in the second half.
Seemed to completely switch off for their goal unfortunately, so frustrating when that happens a couple of minutes in.
A lot was made of Dike’s power and pace, but what he had that we really miss is his movement in the box, which would give out wide players something to aim for. Woodrow and Frieser’s movement when the ball goes wide is pretty poor. Will have to see what Cole offers. I’m not sure the Belgian forwards even exist. But if he doesn’t think either of them could improve our forward line, with Morris injured then it’s a worry.
I loved that winning feeling that Val gave us every game. Played ok tonight but I just feel frustrated.
Quite possibly but people are panicking and we've got 4 points from the first 3 games, we'd only got 1 point at this stage last season and we were close to getting promoted to the Prem.
How many jinxes did we break last season though? This is largely the same group of players. Tonight was a winnable game but we just lacked that quality with our final pass or shot.
