Far too early to write a manager off. For a start he's still learning about the players. However his team selection and tactics were absolutely abysmal tonight as were the lateness of his substitutions. Hopefully he will learn from that and not make the same mistakes again which I've every faith he will do. Erm or won't do, whichever means I think he'll do better.
Chose a weak forward lone with no physical presence and proceeded to put high crosses into them. It wasn't so much the selection on its own but the selection and tactics combined of that makes sense
Lacking physicality up front tonight and hopefully Oulare will provide that once fit. Also need to recruit some experience and physicality in midfield. Young lads have got lots of potential but were bullied in the 1st half.
Listening to the comments walking up Grove Street was depressing to say the least. Luton very well drilled ,very physical,we're missing a lump up front I asked the Beast if he could fill that role at half time. Glad he so the funny side .
Well who else could he play to create a better team performance? We have a weak set of forwards. Full stop. Brittain was trying to put low crosses in. But hit the front man practically every time. Admittedly, high or low, it wouldn't matter much cos we've got nobody who looks like getting on the end of them.
When I saw starting line up I thought it was gonna be a difficult night for C Woodrow as we had no presence up front. When we threw on Cole,Victor and Halme did we really put Luton under pressure . We went more direct and Styles really should have done better. However when you consider we have Kane,Mads , Morris and the two Belgium guys to come then perhaps we can start to see progress. Tonights team looked a scratch team at the start of the evening, but Styles, Brittain and Palmer were disappointed tonight in a clogged midfield and tippy tappy first half football meant it was taking an earth to get the ball up fron giving Luton time to pack their half and close us down. A learning curve for Marcus Schopp and the team.
we need a good striker and fast. Cole does not seem to cut it . Do we wait till the other two are fit enough and hope they can do it, or do we take on a loanee till january right now. I certainly hope we do something to keep us well away from the dog fight zone...... but I reckon we will not.
The problem is the "few million" Currently he's not worth it. Sadly he is no better as a goal scoring forward than Victor or Oduor right now.
