I keep asking myself how and why and who they were suggested and brought into the club as the answer to our forward line problems. We are only a couple of weeks into the season but yet have no indication when they will be ready. One of them apparently didnt want to come some time ago if the story is to be believed. Is someone at the club wondering what is happening or would that be admitting responsibility for a faux pas. It seems to be a Barnsley thing, signing players who if not already crocked are some way off being ready to play. Is that a spreadsheet thing ? We all witnessed a poor forward line show last night with no expectation of improvement. This concerns me.
I think it's been established several times that they had to isolate when they got here, neither of them had any semblance of a pre season so they're playing catch up with fitness. I'm not stressing about it.
If they aren’t better than Clarke up front then we are in serious trouble. Even if not fully fit surely they can manage 45 mins each. Sounds harsh on Clarke who I like but he’s not a championship level forward player.
I've just got visions in my head of the British airmen from allo allo, and they 'll emerge from Toby Tyke saying " good morning"
My thoughts exactly. can only assume they were playing up to the end of last season and therefore not less fit than everyone else..isolating for 2 weeks isn't going to affect ya fitness levels to the extent that ya can't even make the bench for the first 3 games..but as Mr Badger rightly says yet again we sign players who "arnt quite ready" and have to be "brought up to speed". Yes it's early days and we as a club kno better than anyone what a good run of results can do but am not keen on making a habit of it..perhaps an update from the club would be good..
The problem is , they've asked for them to be the last week in September and the first week in October!
Dike was never signing for us & it is pretty obvious to most that CM & CW are our best striking options. I’ll throw Dom into that as well as he does contribute overall. The rest just aren’t up to it, simple as that. We’ve made some inroads with moving a couple on, but a couple more need to go too. It makes absolute sense to ensure that any incomings are at least FIT. Match fitness takes a little longer. I can understand new players needing time to settle in, but the fact that neither of the 2 new lads have made the bench in 4 games is slightly concerning. I’m hopeful they’ll be quality additions to the team, but I can’t help but think we might have signed a couple of duds here. Hope they prove me wrong but the whole situation surrounding them both sounds a little bizarre. I mean Schopp saying “It’s up to them to give him the right answers” I can just imagine him asking them if they’re up for it next match & they’re like “ Nah Gaffer, we’re getting tekaway Friday neet an laiking FIFA 21 ont XBOX.
I find it puzzling that the only image we have of young Aaron was the day he signed - no other interview and seemingly no images of him in training. At least we have had an interview with Obby and some images. Is there a problem with their visa, or their registration? I just think that this isn't just about fitness, but something else. The silence from the club is also puzzling. We need them both in the matchday squad and firing, even if in thirty minute bursts at the end of a game we are chasing like last night.
Understandable but you would imagine that they could give us 20 mins off the bench if they're not injured because we looked very very poor in the final third again last night' i know its only a few games in but odour isn't ever going to be a forward and cole just doesn't get involved...
According to Doug O'Kane problem is entirely down to fitness Still doesnt explain why they arent even fit enough for the bench
It's puzzling. I know Oulare had a bad injury last season, but so did Ben Williams. They've been here a few weeks now so I can't think of any reason why neither of them could feature on the bench. Trying not to read too much into it right now, but if they're not playing after the international break then I'll have my doubts about whether we'll see them at all.
I love sours but can't stand Duchesse de Bourgogne, to me it tastes like someone has vomited a load of sweet and sour sauce into a bottle.
