The team is struggling at the moment to adapt to how Markus Schopp wants to play to his particular style. It doesn't help, either, when we have a number of players unavailable through injury or the Head Coach not believing they're ready yet. That also applies to all the other clubs, though.
After a hugely successful season last time round, a lot of fans have raised expectations (myself included) for this campaign. It's been an average start, but it doesn't stop some attacking their particular favourite target for criticism, be it a player or the Head Coach.
There has been some positives for me. Helik, Kitching, Palmer, Collins & Benson in particular have stood out. It might take a bit more time before we're comfortable with playing in the style which our Head Coach wants to see.
Finally, and I'm only speaking for myself here, I believe patience is the key. I don't expect to see us being able to quickly & successfully change our style overnight. I have faith in Markus Schopp to get things right, even if others don't. We've only played three league games and we're still in August. Hardly the time the time for knee jerk reactions.
I accept others have their own viewpoints and am happy if my opinions puts me in the minority.

We've more points on the board so far than I thought we would, and I agree there have been plenty of positives regarding some players (for me Sibbick & Kitching especially), but we can't ignore the fact that some players don't seem to be putting the effort in.

I think it's fine to criticize players if you think they're not putting a shift in, I draw the line at personal attacks though but as yet, I've not seen any evidence of that.

For me, criticising Woodrow isn't a knee jerk reaction, it's a culmination of months of frustrating displays.

It is early days and time does need to be given for him to show us what is style is, although the signs last night of playing out from the back doesn`t fill me with confidence.
Still with Andersen and Morris to come back and hopefully the newbies offer us something different up top we may see summat to our liking.

Have to say I did expect us to fall back a bit this year. The loss of Dike, Mowatt and Valerien was bound to weaken us and we would have been lucky to have found like-for-like replacements. Added to that, like a few on here I felt we were getting found out towards the end of last season. A mid-table finish (and consolidation of our place in this league) would be a good outcome in my view. Last night wasn't terrible, but for all the possession and occasional sorties down the wing I never felt like we were particularly close to scoring. But I still struggle to get enthused given the turnover in players and head coaches.

Just disappointed that we've lost at home to Luton. Not an easy game or certain three points but a game we should be winning because as a gauge we will meet tougher opponents than them.

I've put last season to bed well and truly and am writing it off as a one off. It's going to be a slog this season.

Also meant to say, praise to the fans last night for the tribute to Maurice Watkins. Well done, everyone.

I'm patient. Mid table this year and promotion next season is ok for me !!!

I think as far as results then i'm happy with the 4 points from 3 games. I also agree patience is key. I think we all expected to see the three new strikers and Kane fit and ready to fight for their start and it is frustrating that we have so many players unavailable right now. I think we are worse off than others in this area right now. We might need a saying that became common place for us up until the last year or so... we need to learn quickly. The Structure, balance and individual roles doesn't look quite right yet. The one thing time wont change is quality on the pitch. While players can improve and develop, we need a bit of quality. We brought Dike and Morris in when we needed a physical striker threat, we brought Sollbauer in when we needed experience at the back. So we will see how we tackle the challenges with our squad development if the window is still open.

Is Kane unavailable, or just not selected? I know J Williams was out injured, but not seen anything about Kane since he came on against Bolton.

He handed in a transfer request and is waiting for Man City to come back with a better offer.

I have no expectations beyond a mid table season. We do support Barnsley. However, no matter how few games have been played putting a left wing back in the front three is very, very odd.

Against the same three clubs last season we got one point from the equivalent fixtures

Given we lost our head coach, assistant coach, a couple of back room staff, chief executive, club secretary, club captain and set piece taker and our most experienced player... i thought we'd do well to get off to a positive start.

(Where is the new CEO by the way, wasn't the whole tenet of doing over Watford to play Man City to get him in the door swiftly?)

4 points is decent. We've also had niggly injuries for a few players, the new signings aren't up to speed and now we've lost Morris for a little while. We're trying to adopt yet another new style of play, and I suspect a formation change may not be far away either.

It's a huge amount of upheaval for any team to cope with. 4 points out of 7 in that context is fine with me.

Yep, I'm not disappointed with the start but we need to get improvements to last night's starting attack on the pitch pretty quick because they are not going to score goals.

It will come, I'm sure. We're not going to spend a fair few quid on alleged star strikers and then not have them around the team. Hopefully it is just a case of finding their feet and getting fitness up. Once that's the case, especially if Morris is out for a while, they have to be in the squad at least.

    I’m very concerned
It’s an unforgiving league and i have seen very little so far that gives me hope for anything other than a bottom six finish
    Sorry, I’m usually very optimistic

I think this is the thing. Being fit (healthy), fit (match) and fit (ready) seems different things. We know the coach has said he has only limited spaces on the bench but when we have multiple defenders and no true midfield or 1 striker i get surprised. Personally i would have thought Kane would have been worth a place last night on the bench above maybe Miller. The two strikers, surely have some, even if limited, minutes in them.

Patience is without doubt the key. It takes more than 3 games for a new group to gel completely. It also takes more than 3 games for a new Head Coach to work out what he has at his disposal.

Patience is definitely the key mate. It took Danny Wilson 3 years to unlock the key to Promotion to the PL
