Of all the conclusions that can be drawn from this performance, that's probably the weirdest one.

How can you possibly come to that outcome when he was brought on with 20 minutes left, in a game where we were defending a lead? He's obviously not going to be involved much, and had it been for a better final ball from Sibbick, his only contribution would have been the match winning goal.

 

Lol yes not that Sibbick didn’t even get the ball over in any shape or form

 

Not if Sibbick hadn't taken one too many touches.

I'm not going to be over critical of Sibbick, as he's a centre half, but I do think if he'd have played the ball one touch earlier, he'd have found Cole easily.

 

Cole wasn't the biggest culprit upfront.

I hold out hope we can make something of him but his goal record is poor at every level and he's not known for effort or assists.

What is really disappointing is that after less than 5 minutes being on he looked like he'd just run a marathon. He needs to get fit and/or sort his head out if he's going to have any chance of making it. If not we may as well promote a youth player to the bench as at least they'll do some running for the team.

He didn't 'hang back'. That was the problem! He just stayed in line with defender, meaning Toby had to pass through him. A quick check of his run and he'd have been free for a simple pull-back.

They had two thirds of possession, more shots and we fouled them five times more. Let's not kid ourselves that we were the best team or got robbed of two points.

 

Cole was stood behind the guy who blocked it. He should have shifted further from goal so Toby had a better chance of getting it to him.

 

I thought his goal would have given him a real confidence boost but it ended up being a sloppy performance by his standards.

No that was Woodrow. Some terrible decision making and poor passes when we had great situations

 

Cole could of pulled back for sibbick pass the ball back.

Hey ho. He didnt mess this up. The lack of transfers did with lack of options. Nothing we can do. I'm trying not to get annoyed but see if the board and coaching staff realise this

There was the great opportunity to play freiser in where he over hit it and they went on the counter and the one on one he missed. But glad he got his 50th

 

Sibbick's job is to get the ball across, irrespective of where Cole is.

Their defender's not gonna do anyone a favour by getting out of the way. So Sibbick, who I don't blame either tbh, has to do something if he can. He couldn't.

Contrast this with Woodrow's pass for Freezer - not difficult to make and would have sewn everything up 15 mins before the final whistle. Yet Cole's getting the stick.
