Big fan of the lad and overall he's been great for us. Unfortunately already been at fault for 3 goals so far this season, lost his man against Cardiff for their goal (although did redeem himself with a worldy) and really needed to do a lot more for both their goals today. Hopefully Anderson isn't too far away because I think we will look much more solid with him playing on the right of the three. Maybe time to give Moon a chance until then.
Should Collins have done better with Austin's effort or am I being too harsh? Appeared to get a bit of a hand on it.
Not fully sure if that’s the case. Sibbicks pace gets us out of a few sticky situations in games. I reckon he’s more likely to replace Kitching.
Both there goals? 1st one him and Britain could have done better 2nd charlie Austin movement was too good for helik. I thought kitching looked a little raw today and got away with a few cockups.
Someone should have stood on front of chair imo . Running at the side of him when he’s a clear run on goal what did they think we’re gonna happen clear run on goal and shot shouldn’t be happening
First goal was terrible defending to be honest, got done then more or less gave up getting back (assuming this was because he was knackered). The second goal for me he has to get out there and block the cross, looked like a 50/50 to me for a player with his speed. Again, big fan of Sibbick but might be time to give him a rest.
Can't of been that knackered he sprinted half the pitch in the 93rd minute. Not sure looked like a good bit of play in the build up and Austins movement got the better of helik. All opinions but kitching cocked up a few times but weren't punished I think he could make way plus v Luton I think sibbick had a very good game.
Bit harsh, it was point blank. Sometimes they stay out, but he had no time to react. I actually thought he sat down a bit too easily for Chair’s goal.
Thought he's been OK but will probably be the one making way for whenever Andersen is back who we are missing the most. That said Kitching didn't have a great game and a couple of basic errors could have cost us a couple of goals.
You could argue his starting position was wrong but there’s no way it was a 50/50. There’s an argument there that Brittain hands over responsibilities too easily and gets drawn to the ball, but Collins should have saved it regardless. Sibbick would be one of the last players to be singling out for criticism in my humble opinion
Collins thought he was going to pass I reckon I do think he could have narrowed the angle a bit more but you don’t expect 2 defenders to just let him have a free run either.
Bit worrying that Mads has put a picture up of him in a leg brace. If he was going to be back for after the international break you’d expect him to be running by now
Today was the biggest could have would have should have game ever both in defence and attack. We wouldn't be talking about defence if Woodrow and co were a smidge sharper.
There second goal collins should av got closer to scorer so any shot should av hit him, easy in hind sight.
He did well with the point blank one handed save from Austin towards the end. It’s always been a game of if’s, but’s & maybe’s though. I’m as disappointed as most with what seemed to be a game we was in total control of. But we move on I suppose.
I think you can ask questions of all three CBs for both goals. The player shouldn’t have been allowed to run towards goal unchallenged once he’d beaten Sibbick. Helik should’ve closed him down with Kitching sliding across to mark Austin. Similarly, not watching their centre forward’s movement in the box when the ball is wide for the second goal was poor.
Didnt have his best game yesterday. Could he have defended a bit better - maybe. I always think when you have the quality of their two wingers then we need to double up to defend. Not necessarily all game as we got them on the back foot too. But late on when they take risks Sibbick and Styles needed more help. i think Collins could have made himself bigger for first and hard to say on reactions for second. one thing Schopp picked out and i had been saying though the second half is how a more experienced player would have contributed to slowing the game, drawing fouls, game management stuff like stealing minutes. We seemed to be rushing things when we had possession. all being said i think if we had scored one of the 3 guilt edged breakaways all these things would be less topical.
