Ok, I know you don't get the full sound effect on MOTD but how half-hearted were their celebrations yesterday? Almost apologetic cheers. And as for 'limbs' ....... I've seen the Ponty get more animated appealing for a corner. A billion + worth of the best attacking talent on the planet in superb surroundings and that is all they can muster. So much for the PL experience eh? City fans back in the day were traditionally very good, atmosphere wise.
That’s the thing, not historically, but based on the last 20 years, Leeds fans will kind of know they are slightly overachieving so every goal and every point is something to celebrate. Whereas City win 5-0 and go home disappointed that they didn’t score 8!!! Championship is the best league, for me. All so unpredictable.
Our fans made more noise at 5-0 down in the cup a few years ago than their fans were making at 5-0 yesterday
One of my best mates is an old school city fan. Reckons this year will be his last, then he's getting a Fleetwood season ticket.
All Ci'eh's achievements should come with an asterisk. I'm not surprised if their fans can't take it seriously.
Yep. They should all get a (£). Money has always been a big influencing factor in football but in the last thirty years its thumb on the scales has become overwhelming.
Yeah I agree. I just think the citeh bashing is lazy. A lot of manure fans are just bitter that other teams can now buy success. The formation of the PL killed football as we knew it. Now it’s something else.
Said the same about Leeds. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/double-advertising-board-at-man-city.307304/ I thought the same about Man City, half of them didn't get out of their seats when they scored. Imagine that every week whilst watching your team.
Proper club before the money when they played at maine Road. Now there a hobby club for Arabs over 1billion spent on players under pep, used to have a little soft spot for them years ago when they had kinkladze shuan goater etc. Remember beating them at oakwell 2-1 under Bassett great atmosphere.
People are forgetting that the top eight teams maybe more are owned by billionaires. The playing field has never been more level amongst the elite. It's more a case of who gazumps who as to where the Premier League title turns up. The ironic thing is Chelsea signing Lukaku has stopped Tottenham selling Kane. As Spurs were in for the Italian striker before that deal. Man City came in for the Italian striker too to try and force Tottenham to sell Kane to them. I digress. It's never been as open in my book.
I remember us getting absolutely walloped at Maine Road by that Keegan side orchestrated by Ali Benabia and enjoying it. Sheer old school footballing genius. Crowd was amazing and atmosphere was electric. I've been to the new stadium many times and never felt anything like that.
