If only we were allowed! Very poor effort by India that. The balls done a bit, but no application at all. Surprising given the top order has done well in the other tests. Over to our batsmen!
Should be a rule that if you don't get X amount of runs (say you don't reach three figures) batting first then because you were so rubbish the bowling side can have you carry on batting.
And some dross Sharma has served up from his first over. A wide, 2 no balls, and a mixed bag of poor deliveries. 9-0 after 1.
Not great footwork from Hameed. Two streaky shots, one an inside edge, then a wafty wide drive evading the slips.
I hope he does well, but he could have been out twice already and not faced anything that should trouble an opener. Needs to be tighter with his technique and get those feet moving earlier.
Disagree with most of that. Hameed looked compact other than the one good ball from Sharma. Caveat: other than Sharma's one over the bowling has been poor, which should be addressed in the t break.
Watch his feet. Watch the gap between bat and pad and how far away from his body he's played the ball. He's certainly not compact in my view. Hopefully when (if) he gets in, his game may come together more.
Your view is probably better than mine up here in the north with the 14" black and white tv. We also lost power when the whippet collapsed on the treadmill exhausted. Back on screen now with a pair of ferrets in tandem. He's still there looking ok in my poor view. I don't expect any of the English batsmen to live up to your lofty standards. I'm enjoying what I'm seeing at present.
