One thing that Conway was reported is that we lost 500K last season due to play offs. Im puzzled by this. Did we lose 500K only through the play offs as the logic doesn't make sense. I get that we had reduced crowds for the two games so would have been a cost vs revenue element that could well have been a loss making situation. But both games were also televised live so would have thought this may have offset this. So lets say match costs were same as normal but 10K less fans at 25 quid per head. That would be £250K lost revenue, but no increased costs. Then let's assume £50K for TV rights at home. Then we have lost £200K. Where is the other 300K from?
There are increased costs though, matchday staff, ticketing etc would be extra. He mentioned bonuses too, so I took it as a combination of loss of revenue and bonuses paid out too. That said I doubt very much based on the above that 300k was paid in bonuses.
With only 4,000 allowed we missed out on around another 14,000 paid fans. Corporate, food, drink, programmes, club shop etc all would have been far increased sales. Yet we still had costs like security, electricity, sorting out the extra press etc. I can see why we will have lost so much.
300k spread across the staff, say of 20 including players and management, it only averages at £15,000 a person in bonus for reaching the playoffs. Taking into account our low championship wage budget, the contracts must have some incentive for achievement.

I hope somethings sorted because in the last 21 years the current owners of the ground have only invested in two gable ends on the West Stand and painted the East Stand supports, the clubs owners clearly want to see it modernised but convincing the ground owners who seem to be stuck in 1980 is a little tricky.
Get the West Stand listed, then get a Heritage Lottery Grant to do it up. We could even rent out Edwardian style clothes on match days to get that "authentic" heritage experience. (Have that Adam Hinchcliffe, knocks your dog turnstile idea into a cocked deer-stalker).
If it was Red Rain he’d still be doing his media bit now, onto his 45th hour straight of explaining to Andy Giddings the dangers of a high press and the folly of a 3-4-3 formation
Listing of the Stand is the last thing we want. Really prohibits any development and adds cost and time.
The thing that's bamboozling me with ground situation now. It's this stuff about insurance not being granted due to the title rights. Presumably that's down to this covenant of the diamond mine under Grove Street. Why don't the club approach the third party and pay them what they're after?
It's lost me. The covenant didn't stop John Dennis redeveloping the Stadium. I presume this is something that happened back in 2003.
Yes, because at the moment we're getting around 14k seats for the price of 23k for one reason or another. Without a decent chunk of work being done to it, the club might have to look elsewhere for somewhere to play by the time the current lease runs out (six years according to YP)
