We need an experienced midfielder. Simple as. Benson will be great for us I.m sure but he needs time. Brittain was spent at the end but gave his all. Styles MotM for me, a ball of energy and guile. Fair play on keeping Chong quiet for most of the match, his burst towards the end showed what a menace he could have been.Yez I would have liked the win but I'm satisfied with the draw. Really don't think we've anything to worry about. Maybe just maybe Schopp is a steady away manager who sticks around for longer than a season and we steadily improve under his leadership.
When you have one of the smallest budgets in the league, you’ll have a smaller squad and a guaranteed starter up front and defence will be missed. The two Belgians would’ve been on the bench which was threadbare today. J Williams and Kane would normally provide options on the bench as well.
Good point against a physical Birmingham side. We started well and got ahead ahead but lost our way after 20 minutes and were fortunate to end up with a point. Much prefer to concentrate on the positives of gaining a point whilst not playing well and also not being intimidated and standing up to Birmingham's physicality. It's early days in Schlopp's reign and I'm content with the points haul thus far. We've got a fortnight to work on stuff and get some players back and integrated into the team so I can only see us improving. Still, it's going to be a transitional season but I still think we'll finish comfortably in mid table.
I like Sibbick and I get he’s young but when his head goes it goes big. After his mistake for the goal he was a walking liability, the kindest thing to do was take him off.
I didn't think Britain covered himself well in the goal either but will watch it back. They had chance after chance not just Toby to blame
Confident why. Should have been an easy 3 points today and we aren’t competitive again. We will finish nearer bottom than top.
Kane played for under 23s Tuesday, made zero effort, don't think he is our saviour, young lad from Charlton made him look a mug
We were weak as p*ss upfront today. I’m not a fan of Victor but I would’ve brought him on a lot sooner. Still not entirely sure what our game plan is. We knock it around patiently in our own half, then in the final third it seems to be aimless rushed balls over the top to three forwards who wouldn’t trouble many defenders physically. The international break has come at a good time. We need to get the Belgian lads up to speed for a bit of physicality upfront. Edit - a few more thoughts. Collins pulled off a couple of cracking saves, and the referee was w*nk again.
I never said I was confident but I do have a positive outlook. Against a team that steamrollered Luton 5-0 away last week? We are competitive. We competed and we won a point.
When we’ve got 6 players out that will arguably all be in the match day 18, I’d say that’s pretty depleted. I can’t wait for us to have some different options off the bench.
Yes, you’re right, nobody wants to see footballers running around. I think that’s called not trying when they don’t, and I don’t know what to call it when they do. I suppose when Man U run around it’s called pressing and when we do , it’s called *****!
