Not concerned about what Barnsley want him to get out of the loan as we haven't really spoken to him. His contact is up next summer so I can't really fault him for being concerned about himself.
Probably very frustrated and wants to move on. Can't blame him and probably best for all he goes somewhere he's wanted. Don't really have a problem with a young lad who hasn't really played and is in the last year of contract saying that. Nice to see a bit of honesty really.
He says to the effect that he hasn’t been set any objectives by Barnsley and that it is down to him and Walsall
Let's face it he probably won't play for us again, his contract is up next summer and I cant see us extending it unless he takes league 2 by storm. He has started just one game for us in 2 years I wish him all the best but he needs to do well for himself not us.
Yep, not a pop at him, he needs to play football, but I do think he only just stopped short of a full-on "**** what Barnsley think"
TBF he obviously feels unwanted at Oakwell. Can’t blame him for trying to make a go of things elsewhere.
He's getting his wages from Barnsley. Up to him to push his way into the first team and if he's not good enough, to ask to go on a free transfer to a lower league club. Money for jam!
George is a really good kid, typical northerner, says it how it is. He's done nowt wrong there. He knows this season is huge for him in terms of his future. I hope he smashes League Two to bits and gives us something to think about, or forces us to take the option and make a few quid. He 'should' do well down there. He's a lot better than our fanbase think he is. Which makes sense considering he's barely played. I love Walsall's kit by the way.
He did indeed. And a couple of good cameos under Val, or was it Struber? After Bolton I could genuinely see him getting a run. Good luck to him. Some fans (YT) made their minds up on the basis several gaffers didn't play him more, not on any evidence he himself presented.
Me too, mate. He's a likeable lad and I think if we'd never got promoted, he'd have had a different time of things. Not every signing works out. You're doing very, very well if you get 50% right.
I feel a bit that we have stymied his development. Would have been better for him if we had looked to sell him when we went up. He needs a good home where he is a regular pick
Totally agree but he's had the comfort of a nice contract for the last couple of years too. It's over to him now to prove himself and earn another few years pay.
Ironically I saw Walsall’s first game live this season. Hope they create more chances as I don’t see him getting many there either. They have Conor Wilkinson too and he’s still *****.
None of know how nice it actually was though. Won't have been peanuts, but likely peanuts compared to the majority of players making the bench in the Championship. Wasn't swanning around picking up big money is the point I'm trying to make.
Obviously not on Woodrows money and that's why I've always defended him when he gets criticized for being on the bench when we don't win. Yet certain players are legends regardless of performance. Miller clearly needs a change of scenery to kick start his career and hopefully he does it.
