    Yeah no idea why we sent Overton as a nightwatchman. He's a great batsman who usually gets runs against the older ball. I guess Jimmy isn't up for it anymore.

    Dare I say that Pope looks good for a big innings ?
    He’s got 11 centuries and a 250 in first class cricket and he’s only 23/24.
    I know that facing India’s bowlers is a lot different to county bowlers but it shows he’s got the temperament for long innings.

    Was looking like a disaster with those early losses but with wickets in hand we should at least be able to equal their first innings or get fairly close to it at the bare minimum.

    Id say that session was honours even - when Mallan went along with Overton early England were in big trouble but fortunately Bairstow and Pope have steadied things a bit. Another huge session coming up need to at least pass their total with wickets in hand and still be batting at tea - Really need to get to 250 if at all possible to give us the best chance in the second innings
    A couple of quick wickets after Lunch and Inda are back in the driving seat, if these 2 can bat for another hour or so we should be on top

    He survived one earlier but this was just catching top of leg stump. He was batting on off stump which kind of encourages the umpire to give him out if he misses one. The commentators have just explained it that way.
