Wow. Some of his actions have been those of one of the best human beings. To say he’s ‘not one of the best role models’ is really not very accurate. I would love a child of mine to grow up with the compassion, dedication, professionalism and sincerity as Ronaldo. Yes he’s a winner, but that’s no bad thing.
Jeez. You’re literally saying here ‘donate to charity you overpaid idiot who has a ton of surplus cash to help the poorer sector of society or those with misfortune’. But if you do, get ready because I’ll say you did I for tax reasons. No winner there. Keep being kind.
Tbf with the amount of money he's earning it must be difficult to keep track of it, that's what he pays his accountants for. Not liking the rape accusation against him. The fact money changed hands scuppers his sincerity in my eyes.
Rape claim is fair but not sure how much that developed due to his leg map team or the claim itself. Literally no idea. But you do seem to be disregarding anything positive. And there’s a long list for that. Even the videos where he makes kids feel ten feet tall. Being a winner doesn’t mean being an idiot
No, I clearly said that tax avoidance is legal, I don't like it as it's morally suspect and it's definitely a vehicle used by the elite to bring down their tax, but as it's legal I wouldn't hold that against anyone (even though I know it's done for the wrong reasons). It's Ronaldos tax evasion I have an issue with and all the "what a great guy he is" that he seems to command. As I said earlier, great footballer, not a great person. And as for making kids feel 10ft tall, well, that's all brand related isn't it? Just my opinion though, other opinions are available.
Still can’t get my head around this. He’s only nice to kids because it helps his brand? Nothing to do with him being a footballer and wanting to inspire children and knowing himself what that would feel like? He does all that with sincerity. It’s not an act. You must be one of the most amazing people on the planet. Considering you say Ronaldo is not a great person despite his charity work, the $85k hospital bill that he paid for, all the hospital visits he makes to visit sick children, the millions in donations. He’s an ambassador for three charities, donated over a million Euros to Portugal’s hospitals that financed two new intensive care units, and convinced the Portugal squad to donate 50% of their Euro 2020 bonus to help support the pandemic - Bernardo Silva confirmed this one.
As stated earlier in the thread, 99.99% of people on here would love their kids to emulate Ronaldo The other 0.01% are probably telling porkies
Well, I can guarantee I'm not telling porkies, I obviously don't speak for anyone else. There are literally thousands of people I'd rather my kids emulate though, thousands. Having a sh it load of money and donating a small portion of disposable income to charities doesn't really rate highly for me I'm afraid. Your maths is off, by the way
Sorry, I don't know the names of every good doctor, nurse, health care assistant, paramedic, teacher, teaching assistant, council worker, cleaner, supermarket worker, delivery driver...
If that's how you see it. Don't really understand how you'd expect me to name every person that's kept the country running over the last 18 months.
Interesting So everyone who has helped to keep the country running for the last 18 months is a better role model than Ronaldo
Good people by default are better role models than people found guilty of a criminal offence. Anything else?
I would recommend reading with an open mind Der Spiegel’s articles about the Ronaldo rape allegations
