I agree. He wasn't the best but he wasn't overtly bad as some suggest. He was what he was. Lower league upped in class. The problem we had back then was we also had Matty Done, Tom Kennedy, Mcnulty, Dagnall, Davies, Perkins, Dawson, Collins who were also lower grade players rising in class. The decent players we had on the books were got rid of for these players being brought in.
Didn't Wiseman claim he realised his mistake when signing for Barnsley from the first minute and disliked the place from that moment on? As for comparing him to Bobby Hassell, that's the equivalent of comparing Willie Ferry and Ashley Ward!
I spent some time with a Rangers fan with work, he told me some stories about Rangers away days in Europe, sounded unbelievable, you'd have just a good a time not going to the match and spending it in local bars then if you got a ticket by the sounds of it! One guy did a lottery for spare ticket from a bar - pound a go, made a grand.
Wiseman was the scapegoat until he left, then it switched onto Kennedy. He wasn't good enough, fair enough, but it was Hill's fault for making him captain and insisting on playing him every game.
100% spot on with f.,.......bells on Unbelievable jeff. Anfield away FA cup he was awesome that game .
We did the same watching England, my mate sold his Sweden ticket for €500 at the Germany World Cup and we watched it in the Cologne fan park. I can't remember a thing.
