    The crazy season of spending may be in the top echelons but transfer fees have collapsed lower down. Clubs are skint, revenue streams for some have disappeared and years of over spending coming home to roost.

    There will be exceptions in the Championship but, unless clubs have got premier league payments, money is exceptionally scarce.

    Unless premier league clubs come in for a player the likelihood of significant transfer revenue is limited.

    Where does Woodrow play then? I'd have thought he'd be in the 10 position. Majority of people on here don't think he can lead the line on his own, so for me it's either the 10 position or the subs bench.

    We seem to be linked to a Wigan player every window, and they seem to always turn it down.

    They don't like us for some reason, and that dates back to before "we got them relegated".

    You would drop palmer who has arguably been one of if not our best performers this season to put styles in the middle who hasn't really impressed when played there?

    Obviously on very good money. The very thing that got Wigan into trouble in the first place. If he prefers to play in front of low crowds and at 3rd tier level there's not much more the Reds can do. Hope that's the last time we hear of this guy coming to Oakwell.

    Call me a cynic but I don't believe the narrative being portrayed.

    I read this as the player wants to go on a free at the end of his contract and he's using some PR to spin this 'want a new contract' story to give him an easy ride with the Wigan fans while he sees out his contract.

    Think we just need a season wi fans back after covid,things will pick up.prem av massive tv money and am sure i red most prem clubs could survive on tv money alone.
