It's the 8% hit that did it Helen. Fine to waste money on vanity projects like HS2 though

And it'll be a Boris pledge to reinstate it just after the next election, so he looks like a hero and millions will lap it up.....again.

Not me. I live in Runnymede ex Philip Hammond country but there's no way I'd vote Conservative even though I know it'll never be a Labour seat

It's not "gone" forever, it's been suspended for 12 months, and the CPI 2.5% increase will be applied instead of the 8% that would have been applied under the triple lock. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, but let's be accurate.

Or Dido Harding's track and trace.
I've probably over used that one now, but sod it.

I'm 6 months off getting my state pension. Just glad that I have a couple of half-decent occupational ones.

do you genuinely think they will bring it back? Possibly weeks before a GE but can’t see it myself.

Possibly. It's always easier to do a thing once a precedent has been set. I don't trust these ******** as far as I could throw them, so any talk of it being a one-off should be taken with a pinch of salt. But we'll see...

HS2 will merely push house prices up in and around it's route . This means banks can create even bigger loans to help their bottom line . It's all one big gravy train , no pun intended .

Labour finished 2nd but even adding the LD lot in it would be a big turnround needed

Only ‘suspended for a year’, due to the inflation rise because of the statistical anomaly caused by people coming off furlough.

though unsurprisingly that very same inflation rise (that’s not real) is cause for the BoE to consider raising interest rates (according to the blue rinse media).

She had to narrow down the broken promises or she would have been there until tomorrow.
