Newcastle are drawing at Old Trafford (were drawing - get in Ronaldo!). If the big teams don’t turn it on then you have a chance to compete. Bournemouth have looked every bit the title contenders they are. Sadly for us we’re about five players light and some of the ones involved have trained with us for around one week. Knee jerk over the top reactions help nobody to be honest. Today was always an extremely tough ask and nothing like what Val experienced heading down there.
We are miles behind where we were last season which is disappointing but not foo hard to predict. To compete we need a full squad to choose from. Once we have injuries or people unavailable we are going to struggle. Still think we will end up lower mid table though.
The only positive is I hope to god Morris is back sooner rather than later…. He is key & I’d be starting him ahead of Woodrow any day of the week. Forget all this, he’s got 50 goals for us, he’s the Captain,,,,,,he doesn’t do anywhere near enough.
Stop it you can't knock cauley he's scored 50 goals be lucky to get to 60 before he retires if he carrys on
Is that STILL 5 players light? or because we’re missing player’s? Interested to know because the only players that I think will make abit of a difference is Morris & Mads
It doesn't really matter how good Bournemouth are - the main issue is that our passing and ball control has been shocking. This would be 0-0 against a pub team.
Should be a cricket score, Coventry and brum had loads of chances against us but this is something else
Wasn’t expecting much today given how depleted in key positions we are. BUT we were desperate for reinforcements, we got some put then leave them out!, and how Woodrow keeps getting a game is beyond me, I used to like him but all he seams to be about these days is backing into defenders and moaning!
Made a £60 million loss Bournemouth last season and boy does it show. Be funny when their rich owner leaves.
There’s no pressure at all on the opposition. Just letting them run into our half and continue until they can pass or shoot in the box…. We should be 5 or 6 down….
Every first teamer missing is key. One of the reasons we managed to put the run together last season that we did was consistently having the same players available and next to no injuries. Not been the case this season so far at all. Kitching and Madds are losses. Jordan Williams is a loss because he can support on both flanks and as part of the back three. Benson missing out at short notice is a huge loss for us Iseka and Gomes not being anywhere near match fit hurts us Vita not having his Visa yet doesn’t help Morris is arguably our star man and a massive loss Oularè is the one striker we have who offers something different and allows us to mix it up, change things, approach parts of the game in different ways. All the above missing against a team that’s flying, with a brilliant manager already settled in this country and who knows this league, and who have the luxury of leaving Ryan Lowe on the bench.
Losing both halves. No shot on target. No corner. It's been really poor and I feel for those who wasted their time going to watch it.
All of that is true. But I’d still be amazed if Schopp is still in role by easter. In fact I’d be pleasantly surprised if there are any noticeable tactics on display this side of Christmas. Missing players is one thing. But I’ve yet to see a game this season where we have any tangible plan. Schopp’s tactics have repeatedly been to pick eleven players and leave them to it.
Love your optimism, fair play to you..Still only Morris & Mads for me, the rest are decent to average squad players, aside from the ones who we haven’t seen play yet.. If you count Parker as a reason, then why don’t we ever look at UK/English managers who know the league?instead of some unknown whose system seems to to work in a 2nd rate European league
I'd written this off as a routine defeat. They'll lose to Stoke City too. Plenty of games to go though. In Schopp I trust.
