Fight is the wrong word perhaps. There seems to be a culture that does not encourage male competitiveness. I understand why this is, because fighting shouldn't be the go to resolution of disagreements, but boys and young men, are driven by competitiveness, and "win at all costs" mentality and that's why physicality is invoked as a last resort.
I'm 40 next year, but as a child, every fight I had was to establish myself in the pecking order of the other males in our social group. There was no long term malice and no one ever got more than a bloody nose. I dont understand why this is frowned on particularly.
I have 3 daughters, and they each have their own personalities and ways to react to different situations, but I fully expect two out of three to beat the living daylights out of anyone who stands in their way. But they get that from their mother. I'd like to point out that I am not in favour of fighting as adults.

In the end, I felt proud of them for the effort and resilience.

Had VA just carried on running, it would have just bounced off him into the net. Winner. But, it wasn't to be.

Marcus ways seems to be looking out of the corners of his eyes when he's being interviewed. Strange.

 

Aspects of it I liked, others not so. I thought we were far too easy to be by-passed out wide, however I think some of out interplay was good. I'm happy with the effort on show.

Effort was great. Quality wasn’t. Brilliant goal and fantastic performance by Brad.

 

I think we need to talk about the lads that are playing rather than the ones that aren't. I'd fully expect our starting lineup to be able to compete with Stoke as tonight proved.

They had acres of space down both flanks. I thought Moon and Styles were all at sea at times. I think Schopp's style of play might work better in a different formation, but you can't fault the effort.
