‘We pretty much completely dominated a team that will finish top ten’.. we finished 5th last season, 5th! Why this season are we going back to expecting mediocrity/*****? It’s like we’re not entitled to success again.. I don’t get this at all.
Played well considering the amount of players unavailable, we will 100% not be in a relegation battle.
Why have we moved Brittain to centre midfield when we at half time have a player who is fit enough to come on and play there?
Didn’t Rooney used to take them too? Baffling. We do have a rich tradition of taking crap corners though. At least Cauley usually beats the first man.
Who’s accepting mediocrity? Don’t quote my post and then make an assumption up. A side that finishes top ten in this league is a decent side. We’re threadbare, under a new manager, after a Summer of upheaval. We just dominated them. Should have won. Yet wild claims about the ability of the Head Coach are still thrown out there. It’s called perspective.
A player we signed for a he U23’s and probably didn’t expect to be anywhere near the first team in his first few months? You’re talking like Brittain played poorly in there. Had a decent game for me and gave us energy which we’ve sometimes lacked.
Come on pal, Brittain didn’t play well in there at all. Neither did he play well in there Wednesday night. He’s a right back.
How many goals has Woodrow scored for us from corners? No idea what the answer is. I do know we should have scored twice from corners today though. Helik and Frieser should have borrows their chances - from Woodrow corners. On the other hand Styles’ delivery from free kicks was atrocious and a complete waste.
You keep making claims and doubling down. I’m half tempted to offer you a shovel. Thought Brittain played well throughout the 90 minutes and did a job for the team that we didn’t trust a youngster we signed on a free after being released by Norwich, following a small stint on loan at Harrogate, to do. That’s not baffling in the slightest when you look at the options available. Plus, you’re clamouring for a player to start who you know absolutely nothing about other than a cameo against Stoke where he touched the ball about seven times.
He’s a central midfielder though. And how do you know I know absolutely nothing about him? Why do you think I have a favour towards him starting over Brittain in midfield? Shovel passed with your assumptions.
Had he put it in (as he really should have) the goal would have ranked alongside those of Giggs and Ginola against us. It was an excellent run.
At this stage I think you’d favour anyone in their natural position to support your opinions on here the last week or so. He’s not even fully match fit considering he’s played four games in the las 18 months or so. Maybe you know we’ve unearthed an absolute diamond and you’ve studied his 20+ first team appearances in the last four years meticulously. Fair play if you know something we don’t. But I think to the majority of fans would be more baffled if we started him
Not weird, just realistic. A game we should have won but we didn't. On the other hand some people will still praise us if we draw the next 5 league games!
Any centre forward worth his Salt wants to be on the end of corners not taking them and if no one else can take a decent one then they shouldn’t be a professional footballer.
It's because he refuses to challenge for headers so they put him out of the way at the corner flag. Didn't jump for a single ball in 90 minutes today. Indefensible is that. And if I can see it from the stand why can't the bloody manager? Why have your players constantly kicking the ball to the head of someone who refuses to use his head?
