Bryson, Brooks and Thomas are loose cannons in team play, very self absorbed on the course. DJ is just so laid back you can't tell if he's pumped or low. Rest of American team are pretty good lads. Our lads play most of the USPGA season so know the Americans quite well. There's not much needle anymore due to the relationships they've built over the years. I doubt we'll see any Brookline type scenes ever again, too much respect between them all.
Lowry is his mate , he’s got history with Garcia in the Majors and felt he owed him one , and The US think Poulter is some sort of talisman and not picking him would have given the US a massive confidence boost , otherwise I’d have taken Rose over all three of them
Rose changed his club provider a few years when he was the best in the world. He went backwards quickly, his iron play hasn't been up to scratch consistently. He's a talented lad but his form isn't good enough. Covid hasn't helped he thrives on big crowds and pressure. His game at the minute isn't there, he'll be back but even he'd agree at present his selection would be on past performances not current form. Poulter's been more consistent than him over the last 2 years. He'd be the one to miss out if Rose was included. The Austrian lad has been brilliant on the European tour and done well in US the few times he's played in Majors and tournaments.
The US commentary team were calling Poulter the worst striker of the ball on the circuit in 2021 and can't believe he's been picked. Lowry is in form and deserved his pick. Was unlucky not to qualify automatically. yes he's his mate, but form wise he forced that pick.
Lowry deserves his place, granted, but if you are taking a punt on a stalwart I’d have taken Rose who finished 6th in the last European tour event of the season
I'd have taken Rose. But I would have also tried to find a place for Garcia and Poults. For the first time in a long time I genuinely couldn't pin myself down on the two picks I would have gone for. My biggest concern is form throughout the team. We don't have too much of it.
Dougherty has just said that on paper, the US have their strongest ever team…. but it’s not played on paper, it’s played on greens ! Game on in fifteen minutes
Not the best of opening tee shots by Sergio , Americans show their lack of class once again booing at golf
We gave the yanks far worse in Paris, all part of the process. 1st tee off is always the worst, remember in four balls one year every player hitting deep rough.
We've left the EU not Europe' the ryder cup is always a great spectacle but there wont be many Europe fans there this time due to restrictions' expect YUU ESS AYYY to be ringing in your ears come sunday...
Yep, these 2 can engineer chances out of nothing. Thomas looked like he was going to throw up at the tee.
Need to find the fairways, though rough is pretty light and the grass this time of year is different in US to early in the year. US 2nd shot though on the fairway is under Thomas's feet not an easy shot.
Morikowa there hitting a pretty awful tee shot. Unlike him so it shows the nerves involved and how different the pressures are in this format.
They gave them hell in Paris over the 3 days, it got more and more intense as the games went by. Though we were extremely respectful once practice swings started. Not happy with the behaviour towards Casey just then though.
