Not a single redeeming feature. Will do man of man thread tomorrow as need to get to Old Trafford to se Johnny Marr do his thing and leave Cesspool behind
I thought they were full of energy and looked like they had a plan until they faded in the last 20mins, but we couldn't capitalize on it.
A team with a plan and round pegs in round holes would have put these to bed fairly easily today IMO .
That was awful. Have sympathised with Schopp previously, but no defending that. Trying to pass through teams but we don’t have the quality to do it. Must be like defending against a set of cones with our movement off the ball. Still to see anything to convince me that we’re ok with two in midfield. Need a third one in there, probably in place of a forward
I was surprised Schopp didn't bring an assistant over with him. Not only is he having to get his ideas over to the players he also has a coaching team to get onside.
No excuses for yet another pitiful, pathetic performance. There seems to be no signs of improvement, nor of us developing any new style.
Given that we didn't have a CEO at the time it might have been an oversight or he wasn't allowed an assistant. In theory as all our managerial appointments are supposedly comfortable with the 'high press' philosophy and the players and coaching staff are used to that it shouldn't matter but, on the evidence of the season so far, Schopp isn't a coach who favours the high press.
This is the bit that hits the nail on the head for me, 'no signs of...' I have stated patience is needed a few weeks ago, we need players back and to Gell. We have had players back but no sooner does one make the side then they are moved to the bench ie Gomes, if on the bench then off it ie Vita. Not settled or even trying to give a run to help settle. So for me the balance between me being patient and supportive of the plan is to see progression. To see us getting better, the formation and balance looking settled, chances created etc etc. However all I see is that we started the season flat and have consolidated this is in still being flat.
Got to agree with one of his comments today that some players didn’t compete . I know it’s his job to motivate and he played some layers out of position and tactics etc . But it’s a players basic task to at least compete and one or two are guilty today and there’s no excuse especially with a large enthusiastic following willing them on and backing them as they did first half to repay it with half arsed performances is disgusting IMO .
Im starting to feel sorry for him, he's clearly struggling to find answers and the more players he has available the more confused he'll become.
Agreed leythtyke I said after half time we needed another midfielder in but no the effing simpleton puts odour on.We need a ball winner urgently even if they're 30 odd.Look at Keough for them old head steadying the ship.Knows how to buy a foul, break up play and time waste, simple !.
