Sadly it’s not looked a good appointment since game 2 for me. That said, a few things haven’t helped the situation. Most noticeably no Mads and then losing Morris has been a massive blow. But he has made too many bad decisions, and some of them more than once. - Woodrow is not a captain - Styles switched constantly from full back to central midfield - Oduor playing in a front 3 - Playing Ben Williams - Dropping Sibbick today (basically took the pace out of back 3) - He has dropped some players, like Gomes today, but seems happy to let other under performers play every week. For example, has Brittain had a good game this season? Not for me. - Not playing Iseka regularly to let him get up to match sharpness. - Hondermarck has looked good in his appearances and yet doesn’t make the bench today - Why did we sign Cole if he wasn’t going to be on the bench when we have a lack of fit strikers at the club? - Where is Vita? - Where was Halme today after playing last week? - We have looked slow and predictable all season, not creating chances or looking like scoring. And these are just the ones that instantly spring to mind.
He has no charisma, nothing stands out , our current strikers might as well stop in bed,, we know Morris will improve things hopefully but how long before he is back. We bought enough new players in the summer but for reasons that keep changing, they do not get a game. After 9 games if the team isn't firing on all cylinders then we change it, but this coach does not seem to want to do that. The way things are going we are going to have to pray Derby get another 9 points deducted and Reading get their deductions
This manager is out of his depth, he is making a mess of a talented set of young players, who can play football who can work hard and who can win football matches. Fact as we have seen it, This certainly isnt jumping on the back of a defeat. It was a mistake by the board appointing him, no problem cant get every decision right but act quick and get him out.
I think the Stoke City incident said a lot about Schopp to be honest. He stopped the ball which started the whole thing off then stood back and watched while all and sundry waded in. Probably the point where he lost the players respect (if he had it to start with). Big Val would have been in there like shot leading from the front. Not saying that would have been the right thing to do but it would have shown that the players and manager were in it together.
What good would it have done for him to have got a red card though? QUOTE="Duntpasstome, post: 2816319, member: 119570"]Schopp said he was attacked, what an embarrasment he is.
Did he use the word attacked?
People on here are saying he hasn't played his strongest side yet, whose fault is that, yes mads and Morris are injured, kitching has been suspended and Benson had covid, but today he could have played anybody except for made and carlton. Have these superstar Belgians lost their visas again or have they had pies all summer because no professional footballer should be so unfit after a 6 or 7 week summer break that it takes nearly 3 months to get fit again
Ben Williams is a trier, but that is it, he might do a reasonable job in league 1 or 2 but I think the championship is a step too far
He's not the same player this season. That press report in the summer with him expecting to leave probably has some legs in it. I would be shocked if he didn't have the chance to go in the summer and we turned it down and his game is now suffering. He should have scored against Blackburn and again today. Attempts that were going in with no fans in the ground are now not going in.
Did he use the word attacked?
He did in his sky interview the punduts in the studio laughed at it.
[ He did in his sky interview the punduts in the studio laughed at it.
He also downplayed the incident and given English isn't his native tongue he maybe chose the wrong word ( probably didn't know the phrase handbags!)
Whilst I'm in the give him more time camp I can't disagree with any of that. Yesterday was a massive disappointment all ways up. Given the poll on here Schopp needs to find a way of playing with the players at his disposal. Playing 3 up front is clearly not working.
That was more of an afterthought on how we’re missing that kind of energy and quality up front at the moment. There isn’t a massive gulf between the team that was relegated at Derby and the one that started yesterday. I could even see some arguing that the relegated team was better overall.
