You'd be voting for them to be Prime Minister, with people like them constituting the leading party. So the leader and MPs are mostly like-minded.

Posting this because I have a theory and I want to informally test it out of curiosity.

    Poll above.

Ignore typos in poll, I hit enter without checking and now it won't let me correct it

I'd go with that. But of that list Ed Miliband is probably the best. Another very decent bloke on whom the right wing press did an appalling hatchet job. I'm beginning to see a pattern here....

I would have added him if I had more space in the poll, he does seem pretty popular

Sian Berry - since I'm a member of the Green Party.

Angela Raynor has impressed me recently though.

Yes I like Ed too. Very poorly treated by the press but a good bloke with strong centre left ideals.

Angela Rayner, we need someone who actually knows how rubbish it is to live in this country when you are working class.
She tells it as it is, never a bad character trait.
Just look at the state of the Tories this morning, Redwood's understanding of the HGV and fuel crisis is hilarious. Iain Dunking Donuts reckons he Ince held a HGV licence, so that means there's no crisis.

Your poll only allows one vote. I therefore tick Starmer but would be happy to vote for Blair or Jarvis. Hopefully yesterday's rule changes will save Labour from electing another like Corbyn and heading for oblivion. Good to see there are presently three more pro-Starmer BBSers on here . Thought I was in a minority of one!

She’s great, if the main quality you look for in a politician is the ability to froth at the mouth whilst screaming abuse at Tories.

I thought there was a lot to like about Corbyn, but in many ways he was just the ultimate protest vote. Labour missed a huge trick not electing Andy Burnham, as he was genuinely capable of uniting the traditional left with the Blairite centre. Hopefully it's not already too late.
