I'm probably in a minority, but I'm really looking forward to this one. I've not been able to get to a game since Luton at home, and whilst the results and performances in the meantime haven't been great, I still look forward to every match day. In Forest, we face a side who have made a worse start to the season than we have. That being said, 4 of their 5 points this season have come in the last 2 games, which points to shoots of recovery since the departure of Chris Hughton. In their 4 away games this season, Forest have score 4 and conceded 4, gaining a total of 4 points. Again, all of those points came in their last 2 away fixtures. In recent memory, our home record over Forest is quite good. We've won the last 4 competitive fixtures at Oakwell, and 9 of the last 13 meetings at home this century. Our only home defeats in that time have been heavy ones, with the last one coincidentally being broadcast on Sky Sports. Despite being unbeaten in 2 games, the stats don't point to a dominant Forest display. In those 2 games, they managed 17 attempts, of which 7 were on target. Despite us only picking up 1 point and not scoring in the same time frame, we had considerably more efforts at goal. I fancy us to continue our good run of form at home to Forest, and fancy a 1-0 win to get us back on track. Frieser on the scoresheet.
Did you just type a work e-mail on to the BBS by mistake? 2-0 to the Reds. I'm hoping the penny has dropped on Saturday and we come out on the front foot, with plenty of width, and Benson and Gomes in the middle. Woodrow and Benson with the goals.
2 nil forest I just can't see where the goals are coming from for us. Forest have picked up abit since getting shut of hughton can only see one outcome I'm afraid. Tempted to see the line up before deciding to attend.
Ha, no, most of my work emails are "As mentioned in my previous email" or "unfortunately, there is nothing attached".
Really not looking forward to this can see fans turning on Schopp soon ! That said he hasn’t really connected with us fans yet for some reason.
Cant see us scoring and Forest still under new manager bounce - best case is 0-0 but I think its more likely to be 0-1 to Forest
Depends on Schopp. If he's going to persist with a game where we defend deep, and try and counter attack with no width, central midfield outnumbered and centre forwards constantly dropping deep, then best we can hope for is another Collins inspired point. Definition of insanity and all that. If he can realise that the best performance of the season (QPR away) was the one where we played an aggresive press and that he now has options to replace a midfielder or two if he needs to, then we'll give ourselves a chance. Even if Forest try to negate a press with a long ball, our defenders would probably prefer to deal with that than wingers running at them and passing through them.
Blown away. I've not given up yet - there's a very good starting XI fighting to get out of the current squad, despite Schopp's best efforts to confuse them into submission. I'm still convinced we'll be okay this season, but Wednesday's not the night. Forest comfortable. 1-3
Both teams struggling to create a huge amount of chances it seems so I reckon it’ll be a tight, low scoring game. 1-0 reds. Woodrow.
New manager bounce for Forest and it just happens to be that snide little goblin who had our number last season. We don't look like we have a plan at all, Cooper's Swansea were dull but effective and I expect his Forest side will be the same. Really struggling to see anything other than a defeat for us here, hope I'm wrong.
I think some fans turned on Schopp the day Valerien Ismael was named West Brom manager. Some were calling him tactically inept after the Bolton game.
