I appreciate the sarcasm, but while ever the left pretend there’s no problem with anti-semitism the longer it goes on.

And I did my share of pretending it was a non-issue for long enough

Antisemitism is abhorrent, as is any kind of discriminatory behaviour.

That's why I voted for Jeremy Corbyn.

Tell you what gets my goat at the minute. The country is basically ******. We're in a world of pain thanks to the current government. I can't be bothered to list all their faults - I'd be here all night.

But all I see everywhere on TV or social media or wherever is "look what Labour have done". Its depressing and pointless. I just wish we had someone who could hold these criminals accountable.

Statistically I've got about 40 years to live, and I can't see anything other than it existing under a Tory Government.

Divide and conquer that's the motto of the Tory Party and the Tory press and by god, they're good at it but let's face it there is a lot of dumnuts nocking about who believe the lies spewed out by this government.
If only Keir Starmer would call that clown of a prim-minister out for all the lies and deceit he blusters about at Prim-ministers Question time, then we could see a swing in his favor, calling an alt to a government that's running this county down to the dregs of despair these petrol shortages is down to Brexit and Tory policies.
Come on Keir bash the Barstewards with their lies and deceit, and give them some of YOU ARE SCUM.

The problem with nice guy Jeremy is that he doesn't recognise his faults - that was ultimately responsible for his downfall.

Like when he leapt to the defence of Mear One, the street artist, when his work was taken down by the mayor of Tower Hamlets, Mear is clearly an anti semite, the work is a depiction of Jewish bankers living off the backs of the poor. Right-On Jeremy doesn't see the anti semitism, he only sees the 'street artist' who's attacking the rich. The work wouldn't look out of place on any Nazi poster from the 30's, but Jezza doesn't recognise the anti-semitism, he sees Anti-Capitalism. He speaks passionately about the jews attacked by Moseleys black shirts, but when the middle class jews on those same streets are confronted by Mears' image, he sees them as middle class whingers attacking the left.

As when Jeffrey Epstein was arrested, and on TV Jeremy made a point of pronouncing his name Epshteen; good old Jezza will just say he was being true to the correct pronunciation of the guys name. Of course it's just a coincidence that he did that but would never caricature the name of a Rotherham muslim taxi driver guilty of similar offences.

Or when he was interviewed on BBC1 in 2019 and asked if a phrase from a Labour Facebook group... "Rothschilds bankers control Israel and world governments", Corbyn refused to say that it was racist. It took several repeats of the question before he finally said that it might be considered an 'anti-semitic trope'.

The problem with Jeremy is that he sees the Anti-Capitalism and is blind to the Anti Semitism.

And I'm sorry Whitey but "Antisemitism is abhorrent, as is any kind of discriminatory behaviour" really is the Left's "All Lives Matter".

When the subject is Anti Semitism is raised, it deserves it's own response, not to be tied in with other forms of discrimination. And when Anti Semitism in Labour is questioned - why are the Left of the party up in arms not to protect the lived experience of Jews, but instead to see it as 'clearly' an attack on the Left.

But the key point here is - if Jeremy's blind spot to Anti Semitism was instead a blind spot to homophobia or Islamophobia the Left would never have supported him.

Apologies to @Jimmy viz and @Redhelen to whom I promised I would write this post a month or so ago, but life's been a bit busy for the re-research.

My partner Anne had her hair done today for a wedding on wednesday and the hairdresser remarked that she thought Boris Johnson has done a fantastic job. Anne assures me that she wasn't laughing as she said it. So yes you are inexplicably right.

Always like your posts UTC, but have to say you must have been watching a different PMQ's to me. All I've seen is Starmer knocking spots off him every week. But with an 80 seat majority seat gifted to Johnson by Corbyn there's only so much Keir can do.

I agree he does but he should be more aggressive and tell him straight he's a bare-faced liar and if that monkey in the speaker's chair pulls him up then he should ask the speaker why he lets him get away with not answering the questions asked.
I think we sing off the same hymn sheet though orsen.

This post made me think. It takes a great post to make some political randomer on the internet think about it.

I know enough about Jeremy to hold a very different view to yourself, clearly. And clearly, we hold differing views politically. There's nothing wrong with that.

But in terms of the quote you've used (underlined, within your post above, in bold text) it appears you've unfairly extrapolated something that isn't there.

Let me make this very clear - I detest any form of bullying, harassment or discrimination. Targeting people because of (and these are just examples) their gender, religion or the colour of their skin appalls me. When I see a person, that's what I see. A person. But if you want to take my comment, dress it up to fit your own view of people on the left, that's up to you. But to me, that seems to be very similar behaviour to that which I've just argued against.

yes as long as he continues supporting Johnson and opposing workers rights such as decent sick pay what could go wrong?

The worst politician ever to work in front line politics and I thought Jo Swinson had set that bar at an all time low.

It really wasn’t worth the time if that’s all you can come up with.

More Jewish members of the Labour Party have been expelled by Starmer 38 than the previous 5 Labour leaders 23. Who’s the anti semite?
