Electronic advertising boards

Installed at oakwell yesterday , not sure about anyone else’s but I cannot stand them .

But we moan about being behind other clubs with regards to facalitlies and advertising so I better get used to it

 

Probably only for tonight’s game and only where the cameras can see.

 

Step in the right direction, just wondering if they'll make the very narrow apron around the pitch even narrower though??

 

I'm sure in the CEO meet and greet last night he said they'd been installed for the remainder of the current season at least.

It must be because of all the booming local businesses that desperate to advertise at Oakwell.

 

I hate them too. Wouldn't have had if they same advert was on them and they changed at half-time, but the constant Chang my hurts my eyes!

 

Wonder if we could have some form of electronic board that displays the socre and time elapsed of the game.

 

If it brings in revenue then it's fine by me.

Plus, the static advertising hoardings look grim. We should be projecting a more professional image, the "little ol'Barnsley" thing we've got going on isn't doing us any favours. It's 2021, not 1996.

 

Presumably I won`t have to see them from the East Stand (maybe behind the goals)

 

The pitch side ones are very distracting so it's a no from me and some people want them on our roadsides.
I get it's advertising but to be honest from the ones seen on TV I don't recall what the products are. The little dog does my head in. Match day experience my arse.

 

You could of course use your phone, get score updates as you watch ,although I think if you are watching you are likely to know how the match is going & of course your phone will give you the accurate time , just a thought

 

Yeah, let's pass up on a good income stream.

 

I hope we haven't got the one with the electronic black dog running around the perimetre. Does my nut in, that does.

 

Is the scoreboard working yet?

 

They had them at Bolton, and make it impossible to see the ball when it's in the opposite penalty area (if you sit behind the goal).

 

Sorry mate, but you have only to think about the money it generates.

 

Oh aye I understand it from a commercial point of view, but it does detract from the match day experience.

 

Awful. They are so annoying, distracting and hard on the eyes. Hated them at Blackpool.

 

Hopefully they won't be wired in to the scoreboard...
