Can anyone explain to me the logic behind winding Woodrow up after full-time? He acknowledged someone abusing him and Kitching with a thumbs up and a clap (which I read as a "I've heard you mate") but the group of them in the Ponte end carried on until he lost his rag and started having to be held back. What does it achieve to blame one player? What does it achieve to upset the team captain so much that he reacts like that? Schopp going/ Schopp staying Woodrow is likely to still be captain. How does it help the team or the fans move on for him to feel like we are against him?
It's completely mindless. The manager can change overnight but I can't see a situation where Woodrow falls out of favour. So by tearing him down all we are doing is sending a negative feeling back to the dressing room and the players. It is not the team that are the problem, most of them played for us last season.
D*ckheads being D*ckheads. Woodrow isn't the problem. The problem is very obvious to see and Schlopp has to go. Dropping into league one is going to cost Conway way more than paying up his contract. We'll have to accept that this is one manager we aren't going to make a profit on and move on bloody quickly before it's too late.
If fans were banned everytime they lost their rag with a player, out average attendance would be about 36...
to be fair to the abusers, they may well have spent a few hours grafting hard to get their wages to sit in the pouring rain to lose to a very average team. players are still human but must withhold their frustration in public, it wasn't pretty to watch and i wouldn't be surprised to see a new gaffa by next game
Agree with you. From a cold capitalist point of view us being in L1 is not profitable so it needs sorting ASAP.
I feel sorry for Woodrow. He had done more than enough to prove himself over the past seasons. He must be frustrated as we all are with the total lack of a plan from Schopp. He is trying his best. Abusing him will not help.
To be fair the majority of the Ponty were supportive of the players. But it's the idiots that will be talked about.
They are still human and they don't deserve abusing to a point that a usually calm head reacts. They might have grafted for a ticket to sit in the pouring rain but the players grafted, playing in the pouring rain and we shouldn't go around treating them as though it doesn't hurt them when their work is 'wasted' like our wages.
Remember players having to carry Hammill away from Ponte End after one game , think it might have been under Little Lee . He looked as though he’d got murder on his mind with some fans . It didn’t turn out bad after and I think he apologised to the fans a few days after or they apologised to him .
Conway has already said before it doesn't matter to him if we go down... Because he and the board put f.e.r.k all in. Sell a Helik he/they're fine.. get their divy
Woodrow as committed to us and is least of our issues. Play him as a proper striker instead of cdm and cam at the same ******* time. He might score more goals. The system and the recruitment is horrendous this season
