and yet we still manage to let Millwall score a header from a corner with 4 center halves on the pitch

Because moon is nowhere near good enough yet. Kitchen aint too. Williams is okay maybe not championship class. Its our tactics playing with no wingers and asking our forwards to drop back what is causing problems.

Everyone on our row were totally baffled at that not one of us could explain that one it’s one of the daftest substitutions I have ever seen and unsurprisingly it didn’t work

Williams did okay today buy against better players in this league he's defensively not good enough and gets skinned at will, jumps in when he should hold players up, going forward he isn't great either.

Moon isn't ready how he makes the team before sibbick is beyond me.

Kitchin isn't bad but lost his man for there goal.

Thought he was our best player on Wednesday..
As for Palmer.. him and styles (when not wide) are the worst center -mid pairing I can remember.
Would not win any midfield duels in L1..

Palmer too slow, gets caught in possession, switches off and gives the ball away. Mowatt carried him last season. Moon nowhere near ready for Championship football.

And yet he's still being defended by some on here. I don't know what ***** he spouted in the interview but he's pulled the wool over the boards eyes If they appointed him because he plays the game the way they want it played, because quite clearly organising the team to play that way is either beyond his capabilities or he simply doesnt want to play that way.

I said that Palmer needed to come off at half time for Gomes but that never seems to happen.

When I saw Sibbick warming up I jokingly said he’ll be on to play centre mid. Well, the actual result of what happened wasn't much better. Decisions are crazy.

Just face it we can't judge players till we have a proper system. We can just have a rough idea

Am I the only one who keeps thinking Kitching’s recovery tackles come from him losing his man in the first place? Happened a couple of times Wednesday & then again today.

Amazed he got man of the match but then again I shouldn’t be surprised after Moon got it a couple of weeks ago.

Our midfield at the minute just isn’t championship standard still hoping a fully fit benson and a match fit Gomes can make a difference.

I’ve just called it indefensible in a separate thread. But maybe there was some method to the madness?

    - No way Cole and Iseka were ever lasting 90 minutes. That much was true before a ball was kicked
    - Leaves us one sub to play with
    - Schopp decides we need fresh legs at the back. Which means Sibbick coming on
    - Palmer is having an awful game. Looks off the pace. Late to tackles. On a yellow. Needs to come off as our midfield was so poor and we were in a bad moment of the game
    - How do you get four in to three in that scenario?

Still massively disagree with the substitution. But now I’ve chilled out a bit and got home, there is some thought process there (potentially).

Was Style's best game at CM in appalling conditions. But he's still a better LWB. Maybe OK in CM with someone strong alongside him. Palmer was poor and is starting to cost us. Concentration levels of a gnat.

Whether there was a reason for it in Schopps muddled mind or not it was a bat **** mental decision and says all you need to know about Schopp as a coach.
If he didn't think both strikers would last 90 minutes he should have played only one at the start not both and either gone with a different 3rd striker or changed to a 2 up front. He just needs to be on the next flight to Austria on a one way ticket or we will be relegated without a doubt.

I’m not saying it was a positive change. But given what I posted what would you have done? Maybe it wasn’t as bat **** mental as we think when we’re all a bit calmer?

Based on how Cole and Iseka played today I’m happy they started together. Maybe you start Sibbick over Moon, but not sure what Moon did wrong today to keep getting singled out. Regardless though, Schopp in this discussion is being criticised for a substitution not the starting line up. Feel like we’re moving the goalposts if we change it.

It's either thought process or overthinking.

It should have simply been Gomes for Palmer, preferably at HT. Moon wasn't outstanding at the back, but he wasn't bad either. An energetic dynamo, Gomes, on a heavy pitch against tiring players was the logical, nay ONLY, move required.

I completely agree. That’s the sub I would have been making.

But the stick Moon is getting makes me think I’ve missed something. So the mistake Schopp made is thinking Sibbick needed to come on at all? That works for me.

I fail to see the issue with Moon and hope the stick doesn't hamper his progress. He wasn't the only one to get run ragged by Forest.
