MARKUS SCHOPP POST-MILLWALL Interviews Following our 1-0 defeat against Millwall on Saturday afternoon, Markus Schopp expressed his disappointment at conceding a late goal, insisting that the Reds deserved more for their efforts at Oakwell. Continue reading on the official site...
What he should have said: "I realise I am out of my depth, and so I offered my resignation to the owners, which they accepted. "I wanted it to work out, but it didn't, so this is the best solution for everyone."
Well he seems to be blaming individual mistakes at either end to me. Not once does he say he got the subs wrong, played the wrong tactics or accept that playing two weak as piss plyers like Palmer and styles alone in midfield is a tactic doomed to fail.
Doesn't sound like he thinks there's a lot wrong and we are close to getting results..I find that particularly worrying.
He basically says ‘we’ in every part of that written piece and doesn’t mention any individual players. Even saying how important Devante’s miss was in the longer version isn’t deflecting blame from himself, it’s just a fact. It was a the key moment in the game in my opinion. I’m far from happy with how things are going. But twisting things doesn’t help.
He said on Radio Sheff yesterday that we were playing well....I must have been watching a different Barnsley
When he said that Radio Sheffield were agreeing with him. As was I. Assuming we’re talking about the same part of the interview and the part of the game he was referencing/interpretation and not the 90 minutes as a whole
I honestly thought this would be the end of him. Looks like he's here for the foreseeable, strap in lads and lasses, rough seas ahead.
Nah, I think I'll just bow out like all the other season ticket holders around me who don't bother attending anymore. It's actually embarrassing how many people have paid for seats but didn't bother turning up yesterday because they simply couldn't be arsed. Most empty seats I can ever recall around me since the premier League season
Maybe, just maybe, this piss poor performance is because Management WANT our Club to be in League One. I don't for the life of me know WHY they should want that but it's the only reason I can think of why Schopp is being allowed to assassinate our club and its players.
With a 8% win ratio so far and awful football on show things aren't going good im not interested in what he has to say mans a clown. 3 winnable games 3 defeats. 0 goals from open play.
I've read that written statement in the official site and though I think Schopp should go I think what he says is mainly correct. The only thing I really disagreed with was when he said we're still near the beginning of the season. I don't really buy that now. We shouldn't be twisting things and thinking 'this is what he's really saying' just because we're fed up. We can cut him some slack there surely.
Fatalbert. If you're Fat Albert I'd need to see a picture of you before I was able to comment on how appropriate your Moniker is. However if your name is Fatal Bert I would say that your Moniker is totally appropriate. Fatalistic by name and by nature. Your comment takes me back to pre Prem promotion years and the 'They don’t wanna go up" movement. Given that our Owners are, according to many, just a group of money grabbing scheisters, do you really, really think that they are intentionally planning for us to get relegated and, as a consequence suffer a significant loss in earnings etc? Jesus help us all.
Have you ever thought that some people are still worried about Covid? I have elderly family members who purchased a season ticket to support the club, but don't feel comfortable into going into a stadium with thousands of people. I don't know how many people who fall into said category, but I know a few.
