    F.A Cup time.
A clash of the roses back in 1988.
This is another full game from a VHS tape it was shot by Bolton and you will not hear a more biased commentary! Enjoy!

My second ever game I think. Amazing atmosphere. Back when the FA Cup meant something.

Ah, white socks. Always liked it when we've worn white socks.
Again, thank you very much, kendraytyke, for posting these videos. I, for one, really appreciate your efforts.

@Micky Finn this is the game I mentioned yesterday. The Bolton fan really did get quite abrasive and vocal. :)

I remember the commentator seemed more interested that the barmy Bolton army were battling with all and sundry.

Hilarious commentary! Broodle, Barker and McGoohan all in the Barnsley line up apparently. What a ding dong do!

And if I recall Tony Rees scored for them and we then signed him. Not the best Tony but, as always, looked decent against us.

Tony Rees scored for Birmingham City in the Fourth Round when they beat us 2-0 at Oakwell.

Jeez, I’m getting old! Can you confirm that he was poor in a reds shirt?

I wasn't that impressed with him, mate, but he certainly seemed to play well for Grimsby when we sold him to them.

Thinking of that fourth round tie; , I can well recall what a cracking atmosphere it was!
Mind you, that's back when the FA Cup really mattered. :(

It properly kicked off in the away end that day. Dogs going in and everything.

Odd that they appointed a Lancastrian referee but, according to the ding dong do commentator, he had a shocker and spoiled the game.

    Nothing changes

Cheers for this, I was at the game. I took a lass to this game, my ST was in the West Upper. When we scored one of their fans had a right pop at me - I shouldn't have been sat near them by all accounts!! And how dare I cheer :)

Also, random fact of the day, the linesman at the West Stand side, was, until last year, my local DPD delivery driver. Trevor Moore. Wonderful man.
