Gary Neville gets my vote. But I’ve been saying that every year since 2010. It’s become like muscle memory.. :)

My thoughts exactly. I'd just settle for anyone with half of Val's motivational qualities.

I don't understand the clamour (from some) for Alex Neil. He had a better budget than we will have at Preston and didn't manage to accomplish much. I think the section of our fans that demand silk purses from sows ears would be disappointed.

I get this would be seen as being defeatist to some but pretty much budget determines performance and anything else is an anomaly. And before anyone questions what point is there in bothering if that is my opinion, I would say because maybe we can be the anomaly and I enjoy it either way.

We have 4 points from 9 games. Exactly how low is our budget?!

3rd bottom and 8 points from 11 is the actual figure. I’m not sure why you would exclude the other games (lol)?

and the budget is probably not much higher than that.

we can all point to examples where teams are exceeding expectations/budget as I’m sure many did to us last season but the fact is generally budget dictates.

And to be clear I’m not trying to suggest schopp is doing a great job but more trying to make my view of our current position grounded in reality

I pointed to it because it was the last 9 games.

8 from the last 11 games
    4 from the last 9
    2 from the last 6
    0 from the last 3

We are actually getting worse. And it’s because we have no game plan or structure, and you don’t need a big budget to set up a team properly.

Of the suggestions I have seen, I would think the best would be Alex Neil. I thought that he was a pretty useful player for us, whether at left back, or left wing-back. Goodish record as manager with Norwich City and Preston. He knows this league and looks effective in coaching young players as well. I haven't the first clue about any foreign managers, as I don't follow continental football. Forget Big Mick. He has always said that he wouldn't want it and why should he risk his legendary status by moving to us? Please not Pulis, though!! Nor Warnock. Wouldn't mind Wilder, though. Neil, or Wilder - take your pick.

Alex Neill is likely to play people in their correct positions and use a coherent system, so he's definitely a step up from Schopp. That in itself should be easily enough to have this squad in mid-table.

So our budget is lower than Peterborough, blackpool, hull, milwall etc. If its so low we should be abit more wise which ***** Austrian coaches we give 3 year deals to.

I think there alot of good managers in league 1 so I don't know why we always feel the need to go to Austria.

Both Rotherham manager and the Wycombe manager done good jobs over the last few years but the one who stands out for me is Ryan Lowe the Plymouth manager.

    Manager career to date

18/19 - 1st managerial job at Bury, got them promoted from league 2 to league 1 and was of football leagues highest scorers along with getting to semi finals of jpt

19/20 - joined relegated Plymouth in league 2 and got promotion 1st time of asking back to league 1.

20/21 - consolidated there position in league 1

21/22 - currently sitting 3rd with alot of big clubs in that division this year.

The most interesting thing is the style of play, classed as gung ho 3 1 4 2.

I would have a season of that no problem.

Only downside had one season at Wednesday haha
