One thing you have avoided commenting on is that you wanted the club to merge two different interviews, to two different media platforms, in to one written piece for the official website. Because they didn’t, and only a mentalist would think they should, you accused them of being Propaganda FC. You’ve yet to retract that. I personally think those comments are unhelpful and aimed at the wrong people, whoever you really meant to aim at.
Looks like the media team are in damage limitation mode, understandable given the circumstances but most will see straight through it.
Only just listened to Brittain's interview on RS. That's not good. I'd still stick with him until after the international break. There are 2 weeks to work on plans and see some improvement. if we don't see a positive change in performance after that, his position will obviously become untenable.
The biggest comments Brittain said at the weekend for me was him having a dig at some of the fans but that's unsurprisingly left out of the article as the biggest talking point. My view is he had a point. We hadn't scored but we hadn't let in a goal and instead of getting behind the players to try and get a winner we had the Ponty end singing that they want Markus out when we were not even losing at the time.
All very subjective though, innit? If there’s no improvement after the break and let’s say, it’s another two or three games before the axe falls, plenty will be saying we wasted a month delaying the inevitable. For me, major changes are needed from Schopp, and I’ve yet to see an example of a manager accepting and/or responding to that. I can’t remember a player coming out with such a brutally honest interview. Already feels untenable to me, but I suppose weirder things have happened in football.
