Good luck to the lad and thanks for his service to the club but I hope he knackers up the Huddersfield squad
I remember they called him Rodney when he played for the academy but I can't remember they call him Craig and not Chris.Must be an age thing.
Despite never meeting him he's one of the few people at the club who I've felt a connection with over the last few years. Him, Vikki and Bobby. I'm not entirely sure why it's those three but it just is. Will be extremely sad to see him go but hope he's successful and more importantly happy in everything he does.
2-0 up in injury time, hope one of players goes darn so Sedgy can be applauded by the fans and show our appreciation, would be a nice touch. Fitting ending to his time with us.
Déjà vu on my part maybe, but wasn't this official when we first learnt he was leaving? If not, worst kept secret ever.
I don't understand the move, unless it's for personal/family reasons. Why have we just let a vastly experienced guy with a real affinity to the club walk away?
Quite possible, but unless Huddersfield are doubling his wages which I doubt, I would have thought we would try keep him. Maybe we did.
It doesn't matter what the position of the club is. A rival could value him more than we do and offer an extra, 5, 10, 15%. I suspect his salary isn't especially high and at a time when brexit is pushing up so many prices, the extra would be a big help. But it could be a host of reasons, including just wanting a change. But I'd be surprised if he's on less than what he was at oakwell.
I'd be surprised if they did try to keep him. The mantra at all levels seems to be to let go of experience, bring in cheaper and younger. It gives opportunity to Vikki, she gets a cheaper understudy to train up for her eventual departure. We save some money, Sedgewick gets a pay rise at Huddersfield.... and so it continues.
